That was the moment I fell in love with my wildcat.

Her darkness sings out to the demons that live inside me.

“Stop!” Callahan’s voice finally wavers which tells me he’s starting to crumble.

Iris halts her assault. His pristine white shirt is now riddled with holes and marked by patches of crimson.

“Will you admit to your crimes?” Iris asks in a steely voice.

“Fine,” Callahan says, his dark eyes boring into her face. “I killed your father. Your mother, though, is responsible for her own death. She ran away while I dealt with your father. We found her dead somewhere on a deserted expressway. She made a fucking mess of my efforts to possess her.

He glances my way and his lips curve up in a sinister grin. “I tortured him after my men captured him in exchange for the lives of the hostages we held during a raid three years ago. The attack last month was also my doing.”

Humorless chuckles escape him. “So, what? You could do nothing against me. Keep hurting me, Rose. I can endure a little pain from your sweet hands for a while. Just know that you can’t keep me here for too long.”

Iris turns around to look at me. Gesturing at Julian and Raiden, she walks out of the cell.

We walk out into the corridor and follow her as she leads us further away from Callahan’s cell.

When we’re a good distance away, she stops and turns around to face us.

“There are cameras in there, right?” she asks, looking at Julian.

He nods. “His confession has been captured but it’ll also show everyone that you tortured him.”

“That’s not my concern at the moment,” she says, looking unusually grim. “I just want people to see how easily he confesses his sins.”

“Something else has me worried,” Raiden says. “I’m sure he took some kind of precaution before stepping into our territory. He knows we’re aware of his connections to the Black Widow. We’re his enemy. He wouldn’t come without some kind of a backup plan.”

I nod. “He’s stringing us along. He knows we won’t kill him. At least, not for a while. His men will try to rescue him. Who knows who they’ll use to force us into letting him go? We need him to call off his men immediately. Otherwise, we might lose our opportunity to use him.”

“But, how?” Julian groans. “He’s so tight-lipped.”

“Has anyone got a dagger or a knife on them?” Iris asks.

I and the guys exchange a look between us.

“What are you planning to do?” Julian asks in a cautious tone.

“I’ll threaten him with castration.”

I feel my jaw unhinge. Raiden and Julian stare at her with equally shocked expressions.

“What?” she demands. “There’s no way a guy will ever part from his jewels willingly! It’s the only thing we can use to force him into calling off the attack on the school.” Her voice rises as her frustration heightens. “These Black Widow assholes don’t care who they hurt. They’ll happily kill those kids just to spite us.”

Julian looks up at me. “There’s nothing more important than saving those kids right now,” he says in a grim tone. “Let her do what she wants.”

I glance toward Raiden. He doesn’t look too thrilled with the idea of our mate castrating another male but he gives a firm nod. “We don’t have anything to lose.”

I reach into the leather scabbard that’s attached to my belt. Taking my knife out, I point the hilt toward Iris and present it to her.

Her eyes glow with suppressed anticipation. She grabs the hilt and tilts the blade, staring at it with dark fascination.

“Let’s go,” she says, turning around and marching back toward Callahan’s cell.

She pushes the barred gate, letting it bang against the wall as she steps inside.

We hurry after her, desperate to make sure she’s okay.
