My wildcat isn’t a woman he can tame with force.

And now, he’ll pay for touching her.

“Why are you smiling like Christmas came early?” Julian asks, keeping up with me.

“I finally have the bastard that caged me for months and tortured me,” I say, thinking of the time I was captured by the Black Widow. Their leader kept his face hidden behind a mask while he tortured me daily. He’s responsible for breaking both my body and sanity.

My broken bones healed with time but my mind is a scarred desert land that still keeps me caged in nightmares. The only times I’ve experienced some relief from the never-ending darkness is when I have Iris beside me. She’s the only light in the void that continues to consume me to this day.

“Hey,” Raiden’s voice breaks me out of my thoughts. “What’s happening downstairs?”

“The Black Widow has created a hostage crisis,” Iris says. “Caleb is downstairs, buying us some time while we deal with Callahan. We have to make the asshole call off the attack.”

Raiden’s gaze settles on mine. “Who have they taken hostage this time?”

“They’ve taken over a school and are holding the kids and some teachers,” I say through clenched teeth. “Fuckers are demanding five million dollars to free them.”

“He probably needs the money to buy more weapons and shit,” says Raiden.

I step forward. “We don’t have any time to waste. Is he inside?”

Raiden nods. “Yeah. He’s probably still knocked out cold.”

Unbuttoning my jacket, I take it off and let it fall to the floor. Next, I uncuff my sleeves and roll them up.

“Jules and Iris,” I say in a commanding tone. “Stand to the side. I don’t want the bastard jumping out and attacking one of you.” I nod toward Raiden, silently signaling him to stay alert as I open the bathroom door.

Reaching forward, I grab the knob and twist it.

The door slowly opens, revealing Callahan’s unmoving body that’s lying at an awkward angle. Blood coats his face. A closer look reveals a broken, damaged nose as well as a smashed head. Broken pieces of colored porcelain are stuck to his hair and many more litter the tiled floor.

I raise my head, my gaze searching for Iris.

She’s cautiously peering around Raiden’s back, staring at Callahan’s body.

“Move aside,” I say, elbowing Raiden away as I grab Iris’s hand and pull her against me.

Iris gasps while my brother curses out loud.

“That hurt!” Raiden shouts as I capture Iris’s lips in a searing kiss.

She’s breathless by the time I release her. “What’s wrong with you?” she says, hitting my chest but she’s smiling jubilantly. “We’re supposed to be on a rescue mission.”

“I just had to kiss you.” Drawing her closer, I grab her ass.

A funny noise escapes her.

“Damon,” Raiden groans. “Fucking focus.”

Iris’s face has turned a gorgeous pink. She steps behind Julian and buries her head on his shoulders. A soft expression lights up his handsome face as he stares at me.

“Let’s get this over with,” Julian says in a grim tone. “We’ve got over a hundred kids to free from those bastards.”

I take a deep breath and move forward. Hauling Callahan’s body, I throw him over my shoulder. “Let’s go,” I say, walking out of the bathroom.

“Where are we going?” Iris asks Julian as I lead us into a different part of the mansion.

“Damon’s playground,” Julian replies with a wry chuckle.
