“You can rub your face all over me, babe,” Damon says, opening his arms wide.

Getting to her feet, Iris rushes to him and wraps her arms around his neck. He easily pulls her onto his lap and captures her lips.

“I’ve missed you, Wildcat,” he whispers against her lips.

A moan escapes her as she fists her hands into his shirt.

“I thought I’d never get to see you again,” she says, hugging him again.

She gets off his lap and comes back to sit by my side. “I know you guys are swamped with a ton of shit right now but what do we do about Callahan?”

Raiden hands her a platter of sandwiches. “Eat, first.”

“You should eat too, Jules,” says Damon.

I pick one of the sandwiches and take a bite.

The salty, meaty taste of bacon hits my tongue, awakening my hunger. I wolf down the sandwich and reach for another.

Stuffing the second sandwich whole in my mouth, I chew with my eyes nearly closed. It feels like forever since I’ve had anything to eat.

“Damon makes the best sandwiches,” says Iris, wolfing down her sandwich quickly.

“I know, right?” I say, grinning. “Here, have another.”

“Thanks,” she says with her mouth full of food. “I can’t believe I’ve been sleeping for over two days.”

She devours another sandwich as we watch her.

I can only imagine the trauma her body went through.

She’s about to pick up another sandwich but halts. She can probably feel the weight of our gazes on her. Looking up, she finds us all staring at her.

“Did I thank you guys?” she asks in a soft voice. “You guys faced so much danger because of me. I’m lucky you came to find me or I’d be worse than dead.”

I capture her hand and raise it to my lips. “There’s no need to thank us, Wildflower,” I say in a rough, choked voice. “You’re ours. We’d give our lives for the chance to be with you.”

Iris leans against me and rests her head on my shoulder. She can’t help the yawn that escapes her.

“Are you tired?” Damon asks.

“Can you believe it?” Iris says with a forced chuckle. “I’ve been sleeping for two days and I’m still tired.”

“You nearly died,” Raiden says in a grim tone. “Come on. Let’s get you to bed.”

“What about Callahan?” she asks stubbornly.

“We’ll look into it,” says Caleb. “We need solid evidence to build up a case against him. For now, let’s all rest.”

The stubborn look on her face tells me she’s not satisfied with his response. However, her lashes droop. She’s too exhausted to argue with him right now.

“Sleep with me,” I say as she nestles against me. “I’m sick of being alone all the time.”

Guilt flashes across Caleb and Damon’s faces at once.

I know they haven’t been ignoring me on purpose. They’re both dealing with a mountain of crap right now.

A deep-seated need to take care of them erupts within me. My omega instincts flare, urging me to look after Iris and my alphas.
