“They’ve captured the perps,” Caleb says in an excited voice. “The kids are safe.”

“Any other casualties?”

“Yeah,” Caleb says, his excitement dimming. “Four teachers are dead and three are being carried into the ER.”

“Shit.”

“They were killed at the start of the attack,” Caleb says in a grim tone. “How’s everyone else? Are Iris and Julian safe?”

I glance over at our two omegas who’re locked in a heated kiss.

“Yeah,” I reply. “They’re both fine.”

“And, Raiden?”

“He’s okay as well.”

A heavy breath exhales out of my brother.

“What about you?” I ask. “Did anyone give you a hard time?”

“Not really,” he says. “No one could’ve predicted the attack on the school. Every pack was in as much shock as us.”

“That’s good.”

“How’s Callahan?”

“Naked and spitting mad.”

A free chuckle escapes my brother. “Keep him there. I’ll pay him a visit after I send our guests home.”

“Catch you in a bit, then.”

Switching off the call, I look toward Raiden and my mates. Everyone has a victorious grin on their faces.

A loud vibration erupts in the quiet cell. I glance down at the phone in my hand but it’s still and silent.

Raiden raises the phone in his hand. “It’s Callahan’s phone,” he says, meeting my gaze.

I walk toward him as he puts it on speaker.

“Master?” a cautious female voice sounds on the phone.

“What took you so long?” Callahan barks from the corner.

“Master,” the voice shakes. “Are you okay?”

“I’m not fucking okay, you stupid cunt!”

“Who is this?” I ask in a deep, commanding tone.

There’s a heavy pause.

“Who are you?” the woman asks in a tight voice. “What have you done to my master?”

“Get me the fuck out of here!” Callahan shouts from his corner. “Do it right now!”

“Yes, Master,” the woman’s tone softens immediately. She sucks in a breath before speaking again. “Am I speaking to a member of the Solveig Pack?”
