Placing my phone on the ground, playing music, I look at the pole. What if I’m bad now? Should I really be doing this? I look at the door. What if they catch me?

Although pole dancing is for people’s pleasure, it is an escape for me. At that point, it felt like no one could touch me, though they did. My hips move to the beat as I round the pool, and it spins with me. Dang, this is a legit pole.

I place one hand higher than the other and round myself on the pole before my feet are removed from the ground. I bend the knee leading, dropping my bottom hand and holding on with the other. When I go around the pole once more, I spin myself around the bar with my back to it. My head drops back, and I let out a sigh.

This is what I missed.

I run my free hand through and position myself in a half-crescent moon before spinning myself fast, grabbing the pole, and lifting my legs. I brace myself, hanging upside down with my legs split. Then I wrap one leg around the bar and fully let go of it, and spin with just my thigh and hip bracing my body. I wasn’t always this graceful on the pole, and it took me too long to finally get most of it down. I spend the next hour on the pole dancing to various songs until I sweat and need a break.

Ledger stands outside the throne room doors when I move from the room. His eyes scan my body, and he looks inside. “You’re very sweaty.”

“And? I thought you liked it when I worked out.”

His eyes move to the pole, and he smirks. “Do I need to get money?”

Patting his chest, I move out of the room and to the kitchen where Hazen is cooking. I inhale, passing Ozias and Khazon at the island. “Can I have some?”

Hazen nods, kissing my head. “Why are you sweaty?”

“Where have you been?” Khazon asks, chewing his food.

“Who have you been with?” Ozias asks. “We have all been accounted for….”

“Besides someone else,” Hazen mutters.

I cock a brow. “Besides, who?”

It’s silent for a moment until Khazon is the only one with enough guts to speak. “Lucifer.”

I roll my eyes, leaning against a counter. “I didn’t fuck Lucifer.”

“Do you want to?” Ledger asks. His hard eyes were on me.

“No. It’s a childhood crush, nothing else. He’s my father’s friend, for fuck’s sake. Ozias brought us here, not me.”

“I know what kind of books women read. They love that age gap father’s friend shit,” Khazon says, waving me off.

I roll my eyes, sitting on the counter. “Yeah, because I also read about angels taking me while flying.”

His eyes snap to mine, and a smile runs across his lips, remembering what we did.

Ozias’s eyes almost pop from his head. “In the fucking air?”

I shrug, opening my legs, and all eyes move to my crouch. Something about being on the pole gives me so much cocky confidence. “As if you guys are going to get some after questioning me. I might have a lot of men, but not him.” My eyes move to Ledger. He knows exactly what I am doing. The first time we met, I gave him a lap dance, and his heat and lust-filled eyes turned me on more than any lap dance I’d ever done.

Maybe I need to do that again.

Hazen hands over food and kisses my forehead. “Wash the sex off you then.”

I suck on my teeth. “I wasn’t having sex.”

“Then what were you doing?” Khazon asks.

“Wouldn’t you like to know, Angel of Death?” I hop from the counter and leave the room. I eat in Jigsaw’s room as he shows me everything he can touch and play with. He doesn’t question my sweatiness. After a few more moments, Ozias steps in, telling us Agnus is on her way to train with me. His eyes linger a moment on me before leaving.

“When are you giving him a chance?” Jigsaw asks.

My head snaps to him. “Are you condoning me fucking Ozias?”
