He nods. “Go ahead and get your kingdom together. The title Queen never looked so good.”
I smile up at him. “I miss you, Dad.”
He runs his hand through my hair. “I know. I miss my kids. I love you all.”
I press my face into his chest, listening to his heartbeat. I almost don’t want to leave. I can see him whenever, but it isn’t the same. I want him home with me. I know it’ll take time to heal and care for my mental health. “I forgive you,” I say in a whisper. All the hatred that is in my body for him is gone.
“It’s okay. I will always be here for you. You are my daughter, and I will love you no matter how hurtful your words get.”
My bottom lip quivers at his words. “Goodbye, Father.”
“Goodbye, diaboli.”
I wake up to the smell of bacon, and after I get dressed, I expect to see Hazen or Ryker in the kitchen, cooking. Instead, I see Inarian at the stove, and Jigsaw sits on the island, talking to him.
“You stayed,” I say, eyes locked on Inarian.
Inarian looks over his shoulder. “I have nowhere else to go.” He closes the space between us and kisses me. “Why would I leave my girlfriend? I made you breakfast because you said you have a busy day.”
“Wow. You’re so much nicer now that you got pussy.” I smile.
Jigsaw snorts in his juice.
Inarian glares as he moves back to the stove. “When are you leaving? Would you want someone other than Hazen to tag along?”
I nod. “Would you like to come?”
“Sure.”
“Baby?” I hear Ryker’s voice, making me look toward the stairs around the corner. “I’m leaving.” He moves to the kitchen upon seeing me. Ryker is still a Soul Reaper. It’s something he truly wants, and I’m happy he has that. He kisses me briefly.
“The real question is, do you have time for a quickie?” I ask as I let my eyes wander, taking in the usually sleeveless tactical outfit he wears.
“Nope, I have to get ready for a super hot chick. She wants to have a meeting.” He chuckles.
“Mhm. She’s taking up all your time. You owe me.”
He kisses my head, pulling my hips to him. “I’ll make it up to you, my Queen. See you soon.”
I watch him leave through a portal at the front door.
“I really hope he is talking about you,” Jigsaw mutters.
Snorting, I nod. “Are you coming?”
“Where?” His lime green eyes fill with lust as his eyes run over my body.
“To the Soul Reaper headquarters.”
“Oh… I was thinking of your mouth again.”
Inarian glances over; I know he will watch it again.
“I have an hour before we leave. Nope!”
“I won’t take long,” Jigsaw counters.
“Comforting.”
