“Thorne was always in the shadows, watching. I’m unsure whose because I blocked him from our bond…”
“How? Like a message block on your phone?” Ledger teases.
“Yes. Except he couldn’t tell where I was or when I was hurt or anything.”
Hazen speaks up again. “Why did you block him?”
I wave him off. “Just bullshit. Anyways, Draco drank Thorne’s blood.”
“His own brother’s? Is that incest?” Hazen asks.
Hollister and I share a look. “Please check his damn head. Drinking vampire blood as a vampire, in general, changes you and your magic. Draco saw me during one of my visits, though he shouldn’t have been able to. But because he drank Thorne’s blood, he gained his powers.”
Ledger lets out a sigh. “I wish we knew about your stalker ex.”
I roll my eyes. “I blocked him, and he couldn’t contact me until Ryker took my powers and took the spell away.”
“So, what’s the plan?” Alexis asks, crossing his arms over his chest. “I can’t feel Ryker or where he is.”
“They want me to track Thorne.”
“And you can do that?”
“Because I drank his blood. He told me I would take on his powers. I just need help figuring out how to use it. I think Eames, Andrew, and Ledger need to go find Khazon and make sure his Angel of death isn’t murdering people.”
Ledger’s jaw tightens. “And let you walk right into a vampire trap?”
“The fewer people, the quicker I can get in and out.”
“You’re just playing right into their hands.”
“Khazon needs you.”
“I need you!” he snaps, crimson eyes locking onto me. He towers over me like all hellhounds do. His jet-black hair is a mess, hanging almost over his eyes.
A sigh escapes me. “Ledge.”
“You want to put yourself in the hands of the enemy? Do you want to play right into their games?”
“No.”
“Then take me, Hazen, and Jigsaw. Ozias can look for Khazon.”
Ozias sighs and pushes his hair back from his dirty face. “I can find Khazon easier, I guess. I’d rather you be with some powerful hellhounds.”
“I need to find Inarian, too,” I mutter.
“Why would that stupid fuck even leave?” Ledger mutters, and I look away, not wanting to answer.
My father bribed Inarian to join my group. I didn’t want to think about how I was being used by him. He left after our fight and kiss.
“Let’s just get to work,” I mutter, turning but jolting.
Agnus stands there with my brothers behind her. She cocks a brow. “Look at you being so… calm.”
I let out a breath. “I want to murder everyone I see in sight. I think about burning everyone until finally the rage is gone, but my rage isn’t going to bring Ryker or Thorne home.”
Her brows bounce. “You are really ready.”
