Mark snaps his fingers. "I knew it! I knew there was a Henry on board."
I laugh. "You said in Accounting."
Alex chuckles. "You did, bro. You shoulda just left it at Henry."
"Yes, sir?" Henry asks.
I turn to look at him. "They were saying how you're their favorite."
Henry's chest puffs up and he struts like a peacock, enjoying the praise. For a sixty-something-year-old gentleman, he can strut.
"You're a softie," Derrick says.
I shrug. "Sometimes. Thank you for fighting for me."
"Baby, you're stuck with me. I told you, you're mine. I wouldn't have said it if I didn't mean it."
I smile up at him.
His expression goes serious. "But don't run away from me again, Audra. That hurts more than I imagined it could. We can work it all out. I'm as vulnerable as you are in this relationship."
I sigh. "I know. I'm sorry, Derrick. I really am. Iā¦"
He presses a finger to my lips. "I know. Now shut up and kiss me."
I smile. "Hey, that's my line."
He silences me with his lips.
The End.
