My water and drink arrive, and I reach for my clutch.

"Allow me?" he asks.

I nod. "Okay. But that's not a promise for sex."

CHAPTER SIX

Derrick

Damn right that's not a promise for sex. What the actual fuck did I just walk up to?

Dude chuckles. "You're much too sophisticated for that."

If I were a chick, I'd roll my eyes at this fucker.

Audra drinks half the glass of water and breathes a sigh of relief. She's glistening from the dancing and it's hot. Sexy. She had me completely hard with the show she was putting on. I nearly got up to pull the guy off of her, but Mark told me the dude's gay. He worked the scene pretty damn good, though.

"I'm not sure sophisticated is the word I'd use," I say, making my way up behind her, my front to her back. "Spitfire is more like it. Sometimes I even call her Ball Buster."

She stands frozen in place and it draws a smile out of me. She clears her throat then turns to look at me.

"Well, well, Mr. Pierce. Lucky we're not at the office with the name calling."

Damn, she looks hot. My eyes roam over her taking in her curves and barely-there dress.

"There's no way you'd wear that to the office," I reply.

"You're correct." She takes a gulp of her Captain and Coke before I can stop her. I'm pretty sure I saw the guy hitting on her drop something into her drink, but I can't be sure. I take the glass from her and she, of course, protests.

"KC," I call out.

Audra turns to look at the guy, but he's already gone.

"You shouldn't accept drinks from strange men," I warn.

"I ordered it. He offered to pay. No harm, no foul," she slurs.

Shit. He did drug her. She nearly falls into me.

"Are you okay?" I ask, catching her before she hits the floor.

"No, I don't think I am," she tells me. "I didn't have much to drink, but…"

“Audra, stick your fingers down your throat and puke,” I order.

“Here? Are you crazy?” The slurring is getting worse.

“Now, or I do it for you.”

She does as I ask. Thankfully when she heaves, it’s not a huge chunky pile.

I wrap an arm around my waist. "KC," I call out again, more than a little pissed he didn't come over right when he saw Audra fall.

The bartender walks over. "What's up?"

“First,” I point to the floor. KC cringes. “Second, you see the guy who paid for her drink?"

"I did. He's new."
