Oh, swoooooooon…

Ashby’s heart squeezed, his sentiment overwhelming her. She was already feeling so much for him. Much more than she should. But that was tomorrow Ashby’s problem. Right now Ashby only wanted one thing.

“Fuck me,” she whispered.

“Happily.”

In a flash, he was naked, his beautiful, tan body on full display. Ashby bit her lip, her eyes settling on his cock—long and thick, already hard and ready for action. Part of her wanted to reach out, take it in her hand, and play. But a bigger part of her wanted him inside her. Carlos apparently wanted that as well, making quick work of rolling the condom down his shaft and settling between her legs.

As he was sinking slowly into her, they both let out a moan. Every inch of him was glorious, filling her like she’d never experienced before. He didn’t wait for her to adjust, finding an easy, steady rhythm, moving in and out of her. Her hands flew to his back, tugging him in close, her nails digging into his skin. She needed him closer to her. Needed his skin against hers, their bodies coming together as the world around them melted away. She could feel him all the way in her toes, loving every second of his touch.

Another climax started to build in her, and she knew she wasn’t going to last long. Not with the way he was grinding his hips against her, finding her clit with each new movement. This guy was a fucking god. Like, a literal god of fucking. Picking up the pace, she tried to match him thrust for thrust, wanting everything he had to give her. Out of nowhere her orgasm hit her, a crescendo of pleasure that made her see stars. Ashby screamed out, unable to hold back. Carlos didn’t seem to mind though, her screams all the permission he needed to let himself go, finding his own release.

“Stay with me tonight,” he whispered a moment later when they caught their breath.

Ashby smiled, unable to hide the giddiness.

“I’d love to.”

“Good. Because I’m nowhere close to being done with those sexy curves of yours.”

CHAPTER SIX

Carlos glanced down at his watch, hurrying across the resort toward the bonfire. He was running late, thanks to a clogged garbage disposal in the kitchen that had exploded all over him, requiring a shower before meeting up with Ashby. Being late made him anxious anyway, but the idea that he was missing precious minutes with her, when they were already on borrowed time, made it even worse.

Ashby came into view as he turned the corner, the sight of her hitting him like a wrecking ball. She looked gorgeous in her denim shorts and a square neck, cropped blouse, letting just enough midriff peek out to drive him wild. His dick twitched, making him wish he could haul her back to his suite and have his way with her. She’d spent every night of this last week with him—curled up in his sheets, talking, laughing, getting handsy. She was beautiful, inside and out, and he hated that she was only here for the summer.

“Sorry I was late,” he said, placing a kiss on her cheek. “I lost a fight with a garbage disposal this afternoon.”

“That sounds…intense.”

“It was. Where’s Mickey?” he asked, looking around. Ashby had taken him with her this morning, and he had missed having him by his side all day.

“Drea made off with him. Something about introducing him to a Jonas brother?”

“A Jonas brother?”

“At least I assume that’s what she meant. She said a Jo-bro was coming.”

Carlos laughed. “Jo-bro is what they call her best friend’s younger brother. Josef is fourteen. Drea and Lee were big fans, and the nickname stuck.”

“That makes a lot more sense,” she commented, stepping in closer to him. “And makes me really glad I didn’t ask her to take me instead of the dog.”

Carlos laughed again, pulling her in for a long, drawn-out kiss. He loved her sense of humor. It was just one of the many things that made her so damn sexy. Ashby deepened the kiss, her fingers looping through his belt buckles, her curves against him making his head spin. The bonfire always had a romantic undertone to him, and he’d longed for the day that he could spend it with someone that he cared for. Now, here he was, and he wasn’t going to waste one second.

“There you are!” Leona called out, rushing toward him.

So much for enjoying this moment…

“Sorry to interrupt, but an entire panel of lights went out in the laundry and well…the bulbs need replacing.”

Carlos froze, Leona’s words catching him off guard. “Replacing light bulbs” had been their code for hooking up while they were friends with benefits. Before she’d broken his heart. In the year since they’d ended things, she hadn’t once come to him with the request. He didn’t know if that had been luck or carefully planned on her part, but here they were.

“And that’s a legit request, not a…” she trailed off.

“I would expect nothing less,” he replied, eyes flying to her hand. Yup, engagement ring was still there.

The moment didn’t sting as much as he thought it would. Or really at all. He’d figured the first time that she asked this question it would hurt like a gunshot wound. But it didn’t. And he knew exactly why.
