“Oh yeah?” He grins. “Like what?”

I wrap my hands around his neck, bringing him in closer. “Let’s go upstairs.”

Neither one of us wastes time, making our way through the crowd and up the stairs. We’re not the only ones here since a few people have snuck upstairs to use the other bathrooms. Cole looks behind me, then opens the door to a room. There’s nothing special about it, just a king-sized bed and a large trunk in front of it.

I lock the door behind me, then bring my hands to Cole’s face as I pull him closer to kiss him. Our lips are locked in, tongues battling in a frenzy until we’re out of breath and forced to pull away.

“Alexa,” Cole barely manages, trying to control his breathing. “Give me a second.”

He fumbles in his wallet with a nervous look on his face. When he yanks the condom packet out, he sighs in relief.

With his hand in mine, I lead him toward the bed until we both lay down. His kisses are heavy, the urgency returning. My body begins to relax, desperate for him to enter me, but instead, he slides his hand into my panties, rubbing between my legs as I arch my back.

His touch drives me crazy, or maybe I’m extra sensitive because I’m drunk as fuck. I don’t even know how his pants come off, but he manages to quickly slide on the condom before entering me whole.

There’s a flutter inside my stomach, followed by a sensation spreading all over me. The feeling consumes me, and when hepushes a little deeper, his final warning of finishing pushes me over the edge.

My chest rises and falls, breaths caught in my throat. Of all the times we’ve had sex, I’ve never experienced an orgasm like this. The vodka … thank the vodka.

“I love you,” Cole whispers, kissing the top of my shoulder. “I just wanted to finally say it.”

“I … I love you.”

A burst of happiness fills my chest, followed by a smile spreading across my face. It’s the first time we’ve said the words, and I couldn’t think of a more perfect moment.

“We need to get some food into you and back home sober,” he insists, keeping his tone soft. “I want you to stay my girlfriend, so that means we have to abide by your father’s rules, okay?”

It always comes back to my father and his stupid rules.

“Fine.” I pout, then reach out to touch his bottom lip with my finger. “I want to stay as your girlfriend.”

Cole grins, then chuckles softly. “Then we have ourselves a deal, baby.”

CHAPTER THREE

2 Months Later

I’m barely able to open my eyes when Monday morning rolls around.

My entire body is aching like I’ve run a marathon. I blame it on Millie since yesterday was her son, Archer’s, birthday.

There was a bouncy castle which I was dragged onto. It was followed by a lot of bouncing, running, and hide-and-go-seek behind the inflatable pillars. No matter where I escaped to, there was noise. Screaming, crying, just kids being loud.

Oh, and one kid who had too much fun puked in the corner.

I turn my head sideways to look at the clock. Fuck, I’ve only got an hour to get myself showered, fed, and driven to school.

Just five more minutes …

“Alexa,” a voice calls. “Do you know what time it is?”

Mom enters my room as I let out a groan. Still barely able to open my eyes, I glance at the clock again. Oh, God! I try to sit up, but my head is dizzy, making me nauseous.

“I don’t feel good,” I croak.

“What’s wrong, honey?” Mom places her hand on my forehead, drawing her brows together in worry. “You don’t have a temperature.”

“I just … I just don’t feel well.”
