“Pass.”

“Are you sure? I can still smell myself on you. I bet my cum is still dripping down your thighs, princess.”

The way her body shivers lets me know that she’s not as immune to what just happened between us as she’s letting on.I let out a chuckle when she shoves me away with every bit of strength she still has.

“I don’t have time for this. I have to find Sierra. Remember?” she huffs, rushing in the direction of the country club.

“You weren’t in such a hurry before,” I can’t help but tease.

“Well, I am now. So just go and do whatever you do and leave me alone.”

“What kind of friend would I be if I didn’t help you track your baby sister down?”

She turns around, her gorgeous cheeks still beautifully flushed.

Fuck, but this woman is beautiful.

“I never said we were friends,” she reprimands accusingly.

“You never said we would be lovers either, but here we are.”

“We’re not lovers,” she rebukes, outraged.

“Keep telling yourself that, princess. Now that you let me in the gate, there is no way you’re going to kick me out.”

“We’ll see.”

“Yes, we will,” I deadpan.

We both stand there just staring at each other, the electric pull between us so intense it’s goddamn overwhelming. When she can no longer stand it, she turns on her heel and basically runs back to the gala. The asshole in me wants to run after her, but Colleen isn’t the only one that needs a minute.

The fuck just happened?

Somehow without my consent, Colleen managed to get under my skin and now that I had a taste, like hell I’m going to let her slip through my fingers that easily. Logic tells me I should just walk away from this. Be like her and pretend it never happened. But even if she wants to deny it, we both know something huge transpired between us, something neither one of us has ever felt before, and like hell am I going to let her stubbornness get in the middle of the best sex I’ve ever had.

I’ll make the Ice Queen bend to my will.

If it’s the last thing I do, Colleen will be in my bed again.

And when that happens, I’m going to make sure she never leaves it.

With newfound resolve, I smile and start walking toward the country club, finding Richard at the door, looking bored out of his mind. He doesn’t see me walk up to him, since his head is down, rewinding whatever grunge song he’s obsessed with this week on his Walkman.

“Had enough of the party inside?” I ask, pulling down his headphones.

He slaps my hand away, storing his contraband back into his jacket pocket.

“Fuck off, Turner. Don’t act like you like coming to these lame-ass parties either. We both know you don’t.”

“Oh, sometimes it has its perks.” I smirk.

Richard stares at me curiously.

“By perks, does that mean you won our bet? I saw Colleen rush in not a few minutes ago looking like a woman possessed.” He then takes a step toward me, stabbing his finger in my chest. “Now listen here, asshole. If you did anything to that girl against her consent because of some stupid bet, I promise you I’ll end you.”

The sudden protective streak in him over Colleen coaxes my own, and I find myself stepping into him, head-on.

“You didn’t seem so opposed to the bet when we made it. What changed? You into her or something?” I growl, my fists already balling at my sides.
