“That’s why I brought this little fella from the States, an original piece of child taming magic.” He points to the small red doll wedged between the spindles on the top of the banister.
“Elf on the Shelf?” Jason says.
“Yep, I’m going to teach Roman about how all his good behaviour gets reported directly to Santa. You’re welcome.” He gives a cheeky smug smile and a dramatic low bow. “And you can thank me later.”
“How do you want thanking?” Jason grabs his keys and places his hand on my lower back, ushering me to the front door.
“Oh, now, let me think…” Will muses, his eyes innocently searching the ceiling before slowly falling on me. I can’t help the tingles that still dance on my skin when he looks at me like that. I’d have to be a robot to not be affected. He looks just like Jason, and I still have the bank of memories of us all together thatmy body is reluctant to forget, despite being blissfully, happily married. It’s primal, animal attraction and sex, phenomenal sex.
“Dream on, brother, dream on.” Jason barks out a short, sharp laugh, and I shake my head, biting my lips and failing to hide the heat rising in my cheeks.
“Thank you for this, Will.” An icy blast of winter air hits me when Jason opens the door. I lean back in to kiss Will’s cheek and Madi’s forehead, and I crouch low to hug Roman.
“Be good for Uncle Will. Night-night, baby boy.”
“Nigh-nigh, Mummy.” Jason picks him up and kisses him goodnight.
“Night, little man.”
“Nigh-nigh, Daddy.” Roman hugs Will’s leg when Jason puts him down.
“Go, have fun. Unleash hell.”
Jason pulls the front door shut and takes my hand.
“Come on then, Mrs. Sinclair. You heard my brother, let us go conquer and ‘unleash hell’.”
CHAPTER FIVE
The line of luxury cars and taxis trails back down the long drive and on to the main road. Our taxi is crawling slightly slower than a snail’s pace, but given that it’s minus five outside, I can understand why everyone wants to be dropped right at the main entrance. At least in these temperatures, for Jason, the risk of a sudden erection is considerably reduced, despite the shortness of his costume and me being dressed in his second favourite outfit.
“We could just walk away and move on. Roman doesn’t care.”
“But I do. And besides, this one’s for me, and Mary.”
“Okay, then.” His fingers thread with mine. He gives me a reassuring nod and then shifts awkwardly in his seat. “I’m glad we won’t be here long.”
“Why?”
“Because under this skirt, I have a hard-on from hell.”
“Is that right? I thought the freezing temperature would put paid to that.”
“You want me to prove it?” he goads.
“Always,” His incendiary gaze meets mine, and I fucking love how he does that. It doesn’t matter where we are, what we’re doing, somehow he can bring it back to where it’s just us, andusis always explosive.
“Come on, Mistress, do your thing.” He pats his bare thighs, and I jump over to sit on his lap, grasping his thick hair in my fists. Nose to nose, his gaze holding mine, our lips are a hair’s breadth apart. The sexual tension is off the charts, when I kill it whispering as seductively as I can without laughing.
“Mmm, you know, calling me that just made my fanny flutter.”
He barks out a full-on dirty laugh and slaps my arse through the padding of my furry coat.
The taxi pulls to a stop in front of two enormous Christmas trees, fully decorated with large white baubles, silver stars, and thousands of sparkling lights that are perfectly synchronised to resemble falling snowflakes.
Jason pays the driver and opens the door. He holds my hand to help me out. There’s a light dusting of fake flakes on the ground, but it’s cold enough for there to be sheet ice underneath that covering, as if these skyscraper heels aren’t perilous enough. I used to be able to sprint in these fellas; however, it’s been a while since I’ve worn them outside of the bedroom, and I’m a little unsteady. My stomach twists and dances with nervous butterflies. Maybe this wasn’t such a great idea. What if I fall on my arse or the cat suit splits?
“You’ve got this, Mistress. It’s like riding a bike.” Jason winks, and there it is, all the reassurance I need. It may have been a while, but this is in my DNA.
