“We’re here!” Piper flashed me a big, broad smile, one that lit up her face and showed off two perfect rows of white teeth, with a dimple on each cheek.
I couldn’t believe the thoughts that were running through my head. The smart part of my brain was telling me to inform Piper that it had been a pleasure talking to her, but that I had plenty of business to attend to over the weekend. With a few simple words, I could make my point and she would be on her way, and I would go mine.
That’s not what I wanted, however. What I wanted was to spend more time with her, for this chance encounter to keep going until she was beneath the covers with me at my hotel. Just the thought of putting my hands on those curves was enough to make me go stiff.
As I took my hand away, a flash of disappointment appeared on her face. I hadn’t put my hand on hers because I’d been desperate for a little support as we landed. I’d done it because I’d wanted to touch her.
I couldn’t remember the last time a woman had made me feel such a way. It was a little scary, but I liked it.
“See? That wasn’t so bad, was it?” she asked, the smile still on her face. “I mean, think about how many times planes take off and land every day. The majority of them go off without a hitch. So, the odds of anything happening are slim. Nothing to worry about!”
Piper was anything but a calming presence. She spoke at a mile a minute, seemingly with zero filter between her thoughts and her mouth. Normally, a trait like that would’ve turned me off. With her, however, it was different. I liked the way she spoke without inhibition, in a friendly and inviting way that managed to get me out of my own head.
And the fact that she had about the sexiest body and most gorgeous face I’d ever seen in my life didn’t hurt.
“Yeah. Nothing to worry about.”
We pulled up to the jetway and I slipped my phone out of my pocket to give my emails a quick check, seeing that there was nothing important other than a few appointment confirmations. There was also a text from my driver letting me know that he was there and waiting for me.
I had talked myself into splurging on first-class, a driver, and a penthouse hotel room for the weekend. Although I made a very good living, I had a difficult time spending the money I made. Pretty much every dollar went right into my savings, 401K, or IRA. Treating myself was out of character for me, and I was still getting used to it.
Then again, if springing for the first-class ticket brought Piper into my life, maybe it’d been the right move after all.
Another chime sounded through the cabin, letting us know we were free to get up and off of the plane.
“Please, let me.” I slid out of my seat, allowing the older woman with the glasses across the aisle out first, then removed Piper’s bag from the overhead.
“Wow, such a gentleman,” she said with a wink.
I chuckled as I handed over her bag before grabbing my own. Our luggage in hand, I gestured toward the exit.
“I bet you’re happy to be able to get off the plane,” she said with a grin as she slung her bag over her slender shoulders. “Nothing better than getting off.” Her eyes flashed as she realized the double-entendre she’d made. “I mean, getting off the plane, of course.”
I laughed. “Well said.”
We made our way down the aisle, and when we reached the end of it, a question lingered in the air that I had no doubt was on her mind as well—what next?
As she stood in front of me nibbling her lower lip, an indecisive expression on her face, I couldn’t help but notice how the strap of her bag resting between her breasts accentuated them even more. I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
“How about dinner tonight?”
Piper appeared surprised and pleased all at once.
“Dinner? Are you serious?”
“Of course, I am. I wouldn’t have asked if I hadn’t been.”
She looked me up and down, as if scanning me for any sign that I might’ve been screwing with her.
“I don’t know you all that well, Valentino. But something tells me you don’t mess around when you ask a woman out.”
I shook my head. “I never joke when it comes to what I want.”
Once again she bit down on her lower lip in indecision—a move of hers that I was beginning to find irresistibly sexy. It made me really notice her lips, and there was no way to avoid thinking about how much I wanted to kiss them…or to see them wrapped around my cock.
Piper took in a slow, deep breath, then nodded. “Alright, let’s do it. I need to make a phone call first if you don’t mind.”
“Not at all. How about we make our way over to the luggage claim while you call?”
