Slade released her hand, grabbing them two glasses. He slid one toward her, and she gave him a weak smile.

She ran over the plan in her head once more. They had all discussed it, making sure everyone knew each of their roles. Flash was to keep Edwards occupied so Slade could break into Crenshaw's office. She was to ensure that Crenshaw was distracted during everything. Although neither guy was excited about the idea.

She’d made sure her dress was shorter and that her neckline dropped. She wore jewelry to pull attention where she wanted it. She was to look like a trophy to catch Crenshaw's attention.

"Are you still holding your station?" Slade asked into his earpiece, giving a smile at a couple that walked past them.

The music grew louder the farther they walked in, and her nerves started to get the better of her. She was used to missions and putting herself in tough positions, but this was different. She wasn’t using her brain or her strength to win here. She was using her body.

She straightened her back and looked at Slade when they stopped at the bar. She gave him a smile as he looked at her, squeezing her hand once more.

And just like that, he slipped his hand free and strode across the room. She took a sip of her wine, hoping the liquor would give her a little more courage. She was going to need it.

She could do this. She knew how to do this. And if she didn’t, she’d make herself.

She sauntered toward Henry, who was starting on his second glass of wine. His guards watched her with sharp eyes, and she swayed past them, being sure to add an extra swing into her hips. She took a deep breath in as she followed through with her next move.

She dropped her purse, allowing all the content to spill across the ground. Her lipstick and the small perfume bottle, including the condoms that Slade threw into it when they first arrived.

"Oh my god. This is bad." She gasped, bending over quickly to grab everything. She snagged the lipstick, making sure to leave the condoms out for him to see a little longer. "I'm so embarrassed." She looked over her shoulder at Crenshaw and his guards.

The guards looked both disgusted and entertained at her show, but Henry smiled almost as if he'd looked at prey. He pushed himself off his bar stool and bent over, grabbing at the packets of condoms.

She held back a smile, smug about how easy it was for her to grab his attention. Honestly, it was a little gross.

She forced a blush to cover her face and took the condoms, putting them into her purse. "I'm embarrassed. No one was supposed to see that."

Henry chuckled, and she could see the demonic inside him. His eyes darkened for a split second longer than normal. "What's your name, darling?"

"Lou," she lied, batting her eyes.

He smiled. "Lou, how about I show you a private place so you can organize your purse?"

She gave him a smile, looked across the room, and saw that Slade had made it to the exit. He had to go down to the thirtieth floor for the office.

Henry escorted her down the hallway and opened a door leaving his guards behind. She took in the space with the lush furniture and the smell. She cringed. It was ripe from sex in there. She’s not the first girl he'd made his moves on tonight.

"Condoms? Rather bold to bring that to a Halloween party." His voice came out rougher, making goosebumps run down her spine.

"Well, you never know," she said, looking around the room. She wondered if he had anything in here that would be useful. Probably not. This was clearly his sex room.

"I'm in his office," Slade announced through the earpiece.

"How about a drink? Help you relax?"

She looked at him, seeing the way his eyes looked over my body. "Of course."

She wasn’t bringing her lips anywhere near that glass. God knew what he put into it.

"So, Lou. You're new to the building, I'll guess."

She nodded while she took a seat on the couch. "Yes, eager to work."

He walked back with two glasses and smirked at her. He handed her a glass, and she took it, holding onto it. He took a sip of his and sat next to her.

She watched as his eyes raked over her body, and her stomach churned. She resisted the urge to vomit and instead smiled. "You must be willing to work hard and climb the ladder."

"Of course," she said with a nod. "This is a big business, and lots of room for me to grow."
