“Believe it,” he said. “I’m never letting you go, Cass. I mean it. I can’t stand to be away from you for even a second.”
“If you don’t believe it, then let us prove it to you,” Flash said, kissing her gently. “Every day, I’ll prove to you how much I need you in my life and that I’m never letting you go.”
Cass leaned back against Slade, and Flash slid forward, so the three of them were pressed up against each other. Cass moaned softly, feeling the incredible thrill of their hard bodies pressed against hers. She had never felt so safe.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered, tears still trickling down her cheeks. “I’m sorry I didn’t believe and that I said things I didn’t really mean. But I love you, both of you, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together.”
The guys wrapped their arms around her and squeezed, making her sigh with pleasure. As she relaxed into their embrace, Cass felt a light doze coming on and wondered if they would have to carry her home.
“Hey, guys,” Jenny’s voice suddenly cracked through the aura of comfort and peace in Cass’s mind. “As much as I’m loving you guys grooving on each other, are we going to get out of here, or …”
Cass laughed softly, looking up but not trying to move.
“I’m in no hurry. You don’t have to sit around and wait for us, Jen. You can do whatever you want.”
Cass felt Slade’s arms tighten as if he wanted to say something, but he simply buried his face deeper in her hair and said nothing.
“I’m pretty wound up, you guys,” Jen said. “I don’t think I’m done yet. There are still a few possessed guys running around. I think I might go clean up the streets.”
“Hey,” Slade muttered, trying to look up. “Don’t you ...”
“What?” Jenny asked with a grin. To Slade’s horror, Jenny sat on the barrier along the rooftop and gave him a cheeky wave before dropping over the edge.
“What the fuck?” Slade snapped, getting up. Cass and Flash laughed.
“Did you see that?” Slade yelled. Cass nodded.
“She tied off before she jumped. Look at the corner rail.” Cass said, pointing. Slade followed her gaze and saw the glint of a grappling hook and a tough, braided line. The tension went out of it, and the hook disappeared over the edge.
“That kid ...” Slade screamed.
“Is fucking amazing,” Flash finished.
Cass rocked back into Flash’s arms, wondering if it would be okay to just fall asleep and let the guys take her home. Whether it was okay or not, she felt herself slipping away, and for the first time in her life, she had no fear.
She was safe and loved. She would never have to watch her own back ever again.
For the next few days, all three of them lay around in bed, eating, resting, and making love. Cass needed lots of time to recover, and the boys didn’t mind waiting on her hand and foot. They decided rather quickly that they wanted to make it official and set a date for the wedding.
Cass didn’t want a church or special venue, so they chose a nature reserve in upstate New York that was easily accessible by the rest of Slade and Flash’s pack.
She invited her family, doing so with a heavy dose of anxiety. Her parents didn’t seem happy about the news she was marrying a wolf shifter ... let alone two ... but promised to be on their best behavior.
The day of the wedding dawned bright and clear, the sunshine so golden, it looked like pure magic. Mountains rose around the valley against the perfect blue sky, and the trees sang a cheerful serenade as the breeze blew through their leaves.
Cass wore a simple peasant-style white gown and a garland of white rose buds. When she took her first step down the aisle, she was slightly nervous at being sandwiched between her family of demon hunters and a massive, savage-looking wolf pack. Even though her guys and immediate family were in tuxedos, some of the wolves had literally crawled out of the forest with only the fur on their backs.
Jenny waited by the podium as Cass’s maid of honor, her cheeks pink with excitement as she welcomed her new sister to the family. She took the bouquet and stepped back so Slade and Flash could take their places on either side of her.
The celebrant was a kindly old woman chosen by Cass’s parents. The woman was a master of magic, and in addition to wielding great supernatural forces, she was also certified to perform legal marriages.
The ceremony was brief. Cass had wanted to stay far away from long, sober speeches and drawn out traditional vows. She and the boys had already decided what to say, and the celebrant only had to guide them through.
When the final words “you may kiss the bride” were uttered, Cass reached for both of her men, and they kissed her at exactly the same time on opposite cheeks. Jenny snapped a few photos as the three of them got tangled in each other’s arms.
They moved straight to the buffet tables and the small area that had been cleared for dancing. At first, the three of them stayed together to greet members of both families, only drifting apart as the reception got underway.
Cass wandered around the edge of the dance floor, pleased to see her uppity demon-hunting family getting on well with a bunch of “heathen” wood wolves. She knew there would be some obligatory protesting by the more traditional members of her family, but for the most part, everyone looked happy for her.
