He leaned forward, placing his hand on her knee. "I know another way for you to grow quickly."

She swallowed and chuckled. "I see where you are headed, but that would be wrong. You're my boss. I'd rather not get on anyone's bad side on day one."

"Ahh, but it's always best to stay on your boss's good side." He squeezed her knee. "And I like to please in more ways than one."

She sat the glass down. "Sir, it would be wrong."

"I'm leaving the office. I got everything here." Slade spoke up, and she internally smiled. That meant she could get out of this room.

"Cassandra, leave now," Flash said, and she realized he sounded angry. It's possibly because he could hear everything that was going on.

"I really should get back to the party."

She pulled herself up, but he grabbed her arm, pulling her back down. "Lou, we only got started. Come on, just a drink, and it's fine."

She frowned. "No, I'm going to head back to the party now."

His face shifted, and the nice man left. He growled at her. "A girl like you doesn't get to drop condoms on the ground and just walk away. Stop trying to be innocent."

She shoved at him, but he shoved her back, slamming her hard into the couch. She cried out as his hand pressed hard down on her throat, pinning her to the couch. "You're wearing a dress like that and hardly covering any of your skin. You're begging for a fuck at this point. I can practically smell you."

Fear tore at her, and she tried to break free, but his fingers only tightened around her throat. She could only whimper. He pinned her legs, and his hand skated up her thigh. She clawed at him, and suddenly the door busted open.

Slade stepped into the room, looking pissed. He narrowed his eyes on them, and Crenshaw was quick to get up. She gasped for air, rolling herself off the couch.

"Who the fuck are you?" Crenshaw growled out.

Slade almost laughed, shaking his head. "It's over, Crenshaw. We know what you and Edwards are planning."

She coughed, shaking her head. She sucked in a deep breath before she looked up at Crenshaw, seeing he had a hard expression plastered to his face. "I don't know who you are, but I'm going to ask you to leave nicely."

"You and Edwards are planning to have millions of viewers tune in on Halloween to see if they won the five hundred million dollars that you're offering as a cash prize."

She watched as Crenshaw's eyes darkened, and she realized that Slade was stating facts, and Crenshaw was pissed that he knew. It made her stomach churn, seeing the big picture fall into place.

Slade took another step into the room. "And all of those people that are staring into a screen will be part of a ritual spell that you're doing to release the worst demon of them all, the devil."

If that's the case, everyone was fucked. The entire world would be gone, and most of humanity would die.

A spell like that would need a sacrifice of millions of souls to be completed, but he had that part figured out. Millions of people would tune in to see if they won.

"Aren't you a smart one?" Crenshaw smirked. "So brilliant, aren't you?"

Slade had heard enough and lunged at Crenshaw, who was no longer calm and collected. He allowed his true colors to show and laughed a high-pitched, inhuman cackle, startling Slade. Crenshaw grabbed him around the throat and slammed him to the ground.

"Better luck next time." Crenshaw then lifted her man like a toy doll and threw him across the room and through the forty-story window, glass shattering

Her mouth hung open, and Crenshaw turned to her. His smile was sinister. "You're next."

She took a step back, but she had nowhere to run. She was trapped.

Flash

The plan was going well. He’d watched Edwards from a distance and stood guard at the back door. Everything was good until Edwards started to move. One moment he was there, and the next, he was gone. Panic filled Flash as Edwards was his only priority.

He left his post and found Edwards heading down the stairs. He was quick on his feet, moving impossibly fast for a human. Flash followed, being sure to stay far enough that Edwards didn’t hear him.
