“Oh, god,” I breathed. “Right there…yes, like that…more…”

He pulled his hand out of my pants right before the pivotal moment.

A frustrated growl came from the depths of my soul. “Condom now.” I shucked my pants and panties down my legs, tossing them to the side.

Camden grinned and rolled off the bed, fishing a condom out of his wallet. He tossed it onto the bed. Then, with that mischievous grin on his face, he slowly undid his pants. My gaze traveled down the length of his body and stopped when his underwear-clad erection popped out. He dropped his pants at his feet and started to climb back into the bed.

“Nope. Take those off, too,” I said, pointing to his underwear. “You have to match me.”

He laughed. “I think there are a couple of differences, darling.”

“I hadn’t noticed,” I quipped, smiling as he dropped his underwear, and I unabashedly checked out his length.

“Let me show you,” he said, strolling to the edge of the bed and wrapped a hand around my ankle, and pulled me to him, dropping to his knees on the floor and taking charge with another electric kiss.

“Turn around,” he commanded, and I did. “Hold on to the mattress.” His warm arm came around me once again, finding the perfect spot. I gasped as the sensations surged through me, even stronger this time.

“You’re so sexy,” he said, voice like gravel low in my ear.

My breath stopped as Camden filled me to the hilt in the best way.

“You okay?” he asked.

“Yes, dear god, yes.” I cried out as my body demanded more movement and friction. I circled my hips, grinding against him, and he moaned.

“You feel so good.” His teeth nipped at my earlobe and grazed down my neck. He thrust inside me, rhythmically working my bundle of nerves. I lost myself in the heat and pleasure rolling through me. With his arms wrapped around me, and the heat from him surrounding me, I felt safe and in a freefall at the same time.

A flash of fireworks raged through me as I burst apart, crying out and gripping the mattress with complete abandon.

My hand slid across the bed to where Lauren had fallen asleep. Her spot was cold. I stretched, and a shooting pain zigzagged my back. Good god, what a horrible mattress. How did she sleep like this? I rolled to my side and reached behind me to massage whatever cramped muscles I could touch. I’m too big for a hide-a-bed mattress. Next time, we do this in my bed.

I extricated myself from the mattress of doom, hobbled to the bathroom, and hoped my back would loosen up soon. Not sure of the time, but the soft light streaming through the window indicated early morning. I moved about the room, collecting my clothes from the various locations. A one-room attic apartment was no place for a grown woman to live.

The bakery was probably already open, which posed another challenge—getting out of here without being discovered. If anyone from the bar last night found me coming down the stairs in yesterday’s clothes, the entire town would know. Hell, it may already be all over town, anyway.

My cell phone battery had died, and the clock on the microwave blinked two forty-five. How did this woman keep anything straight? She lived like a college guy. Shoving my feet into my shoes, I prepared the sneak out of there. Lauren should have woken me up before the place opened to let me leave without witnesses, but maybe she didn’t want to talk? Now that we’d gotten this tension out of our system, she should be easier to work with. I’d given the woman amazing orgasms; she’d be putty in my hands now.

I pushed the door open a crack, and peered out, brewing coffee almost sent me straight for the pot. There wasn’t much better than the aromas of a bakery in the morning. The landing and back staircase were empty. Thankful for a clear path to the backdoor. How could I get there without being spotted by a person in the kitchen or the hallway? I step from the safety of the door and close it gently behind me, dart down the back staircase. A laugh stopped me before I hit bottom.

Adrian stood in the kitchen. I retreated up two steps out of view.

“He did what now?” Lauren’s voice floated out the kitchen.

“Rented an office space on the town square. Told me he was sticking around a while.”

“Huh.”

“Surprised me, too. Also thinks he’s near a deal with Lewis. I’m telling you, start looking for a new place to open up.”

“I don’t want a new place,” she squeaked. “And he knows that.”

“It’s not up to him.”

At least Adrian wasn’t letting all the blame fall to me. But I didn’t want her looking for another place. I had plans to design a bakery in the new building just for her. I’d talk to her about it later. Right now, I had other things to do.
