“This beauty beside me is Raylee,” she says, indicating to the gorgeous brunette with golden brown eyes that’s sitting beside her. “She’s married to Malcolm. You know Melissa here is married to Danny, and that Holly’s married to Romero, right?”
I nod. “Yeah, Finn explained the entire family dynamic this morning in preparation for meeting you all.”
Melissa laughs. “It’s confusing. Believe me, even I find it hard to explain.”
The other girls laugh. “She’s right though,” Holly says. “You’re one of us now.”
I frown deeply, utterly confused by how this conversation is going. “Finn and I aren’t that serious.” I’m lying. I’m a big fat liar. I’m falling hard for the crazy man.
“Sure,” Melissa says with a grin. “But you’ve proven you’re protective of Finn, and that’s something we all respect and want for him.”
I smile. I have their stamp of approval, which means a lot. I just hope Finn and I can grow closer, and that one day he’ll return the love I feel for him. Hearing him tell me that I love him scared the hell out of me, but it also made me realize that I do in fact love the psycho. Loving Finn won’t be easy. The life we’ll live will be crazy. Not knowing if he’ll return home scares me.
My cell rings, pausing our conversation. I glance at the screen and see it’s Levi calling.
“Hey,” I answer brightly.
“Dest, we’ve got a problem. Your father is on his way to the Gallagher mansion. Where are you?”
“I’m at the Gallagher mansion.” I slide my chair out and walk out of the kitchen, not wanting the women to overhear what’s being said. “The house is fucking filled with people, Levi.”
“We’re mobilizing the men; they’ll be there within fifteen minutes. They’ll position themselves outside. Levi and I will be there when your father arrives. He’s thirty minutes out. Drake gave us the heads up. Stay safe, Dest. The end is near.”
“See you soon, Levi.” I end the call and take a deep breath. He’s right. The end is near. My father’s going to die today, and I, for one, am glad his time is up.

“What's this about, Kenna?” Cian asks her with a raised brow, his arms crossed over his chest.
She sighs as she glances around the room. “Patrick.” Our brother's name is a snarl on her lips. “When was the last time anyone spoke to him?”
We all glance at each other, our expressions blank. I shake my head. I haven't seen that arsehole in a while, and I really don't want to. If I get my hands on him, I'm probably going to kill him.
“I haven't seen him in a few months,” Romero says, his eyes gleaming with anger.
Well, he can get fucked. The way he spoke to Destiny, it makes me want to snap his neck. I do not give a fuck that he is Holly's husband or Makenna’s brother-in-law. None of that matters to me. Destiny is the only thing I care about. And he made her feel like absolute shit in front of my family. That's not something I'm going to forgive.
“Finn, I understand you’re pissed. Destiny did not deserve to be treated the way Romero treated her. But I need you both to push aside this anger you have and focus on the task at hand," Makenna says, her tone brooking no argument. She’s pissed, and so am I, but I’ll bury it. For now.
“As you know, Boz and Reilly have already started their attempts to get closer to Patrick. They’ve yet to make contact, but we’ll have to wait and see,” she tells us, and I notice Cian tense instantly.
“Someone care to explain to me what the hell is going on with Patrick? And why the fuck does everyone look as though they want to kill him?” Cian questions, and I realize we’ve not updated him on what’s been happening.
Dante explains everything to him, and I watch as Cian’s eyes flash with rage, confusion, and hurt. “Why? What the hell does he get out of this?”
That’s something I’ve been asking myself.
“If Kenna wasn’t in charge, does he think he will be?” Cian questions, trying to figure out what the hell is going on.
“That would be Finn,” Denis grunts. “But this has nothing to do with that. This is Patrick just being a fucking bastard and not protecting his sister and this family. Every single person in this room knows he can’t get away with this.”
Cian nods. “He’s fucked up,” he says, a hint of sadness lacing the anger in his tone.
There’s a knock on the door and Danny moves to open it. “What happened?” he asks, his voice soft.
“My father’s on his way,” Destiny’s voice rings out.
