“You’re older than me, you should have known what was going to happen when you fucked her. This is your mess, sorry, but you’re the only one that can fix it.”
He groans, “A bullet in her head would be too much?”
I smirk, “A little overkill, don’t you think? Look, see it this way, marrying that so called psycho bitch will bring the Harding’s and the Gallagher’s together. Just try not to have a bloody union.”
He chuckles, “I’ll leave that to you, Kenna, besides I doubt Melissa would be able to shoot anyone, let alone kill them.”
“So, she’s carrying your baby.”
He closes his eyes, “I know. Shit. This is a clusterfuck if there ever was one.”
“Now, why are you really here?”
He grins, “Oh, Granda is coming over next month. He wants to have a meeting with all of the Bosses here. He’s wanting to take over the Midwest now too. He’s got Liam ready to take over and he wants Hayden as the Underboss of Chicago.”
I frown, why on Earth is he wanting that? “I hate not knowing shit.”
Danny nods, “Yeah, tell me about it. Anyway, before he gets here, he needs you to tell Granda who you are.”
I blink, it takes me a couple of seconds to realize what he’s talking about, more like who he’s talking about, and I can’t stop the laughter that bubbles out. “Oh shit. That's hilarious. Please tell me you’re not leaving yet?”
Danny shakes his head, “No, I’m here for the next week.”
I grin, “Killian, how long are you here for?”
Killian’s eyes narrow but the smile breaks through when he realizes where I’m going with this. “Not sure yet, but I’m there on Sunday.”
I nod. “Danny, you’re coming with us for dinner on Sunday and please, for the love of God, will you please call him Granda?”
Danny laughs, “Yeah, Kenna, I’ll call him Granda.”
“Will you call bitch face Granny?”
Killian bursts out laughing. Tears stream down his face as he tries to get himself under control. “Fuck, now that I’ve got to see.”
“You’re a bitch you know that?” Danny asks but there’s no heat in his words. “But sure, I’ll call the wicked witch of the west Granny. Now, I’ve got shit to do.” He opens his arms and I walk into them. I’ve missed him; out of all my nieces and nephews Danny is the one that I’m closest to. “Don’t be a stranger, Makenna, it’s been too fucking long,” he whispers. I nod in agreement, it’s been at least six months since I last saw him. “I had to get my arse on a plane to come and see you.”
I laugh, now that I believe. That’s the real reason he’s here. I love that he wanted to see me. “Sort this shit out, Danny; marry her. If she’s as much of a bitch as you say she is, then we’ll deal with her when the baby is born,” I tell him as I step out of his arms. “But I’d go to Granda first and tell him that you want an alliance with the Harding’s, that you believe that marrying Melissa would be the best way to go about it.”
“How the hell did you get so smart?”
“I was born that way,” I answer with a smirk. “I’d call him now and do it. The last thing you need is for Melissa’s condition to get out first.”
He nods, “I’m on it, thanks, Kenna.”
“Anytime,” I reply and he gives me a smile before shaking hands with Dante and giving the stupid man chin lift to both Alessio and Romero.
I turn to Killian, “So, what did you want to see me for?”
He shakes his head, “I was to relay what Danny boy did, so he did it for me, saved you going ballistic on me. You’re always nicer to him for some reason.”
I shrug, “Up until today, he hadn’t pissed me off.”
Killian laughs, “Noted. I must admit, your Italian isn’t that bad.”
I shake my head, “His name is Dante. Use it.”
“Not going to happen just yet, but we’ll see.”
