“No problem, you can sit with us and chat while Vampire talks to Jay,” Mary said with a big smile, waving her hand to the table with the other women, who were still openly staring.

Stefan leaned down, giving me a quick kiss. “I won’t be long,” he said, walking away.

“Come have a seat, Nicolette,” Mary said, taking my arm and leading me to the table of gawking women.

“You can call me Nikki,” I said; Stefan refused to use the shortened version of my name.

“Okay, Nikki,” Mary said as we sat down. “Nikki, this is Summer, Ann, Shay, Lettie, and Joe. We usually get together once a week to chat.

“It’s nice to meet you all,” I said, starting to fidget under the unrelenting stare of the ladies.

“So, what’s he like in bed?” Lettie rushed to ask, her eyebrow-raising.

“Lettie, you can’t ask her that. I promised Vampire I wouldn’t let you guys ask her a bunch of questions.” Mary scolded her.

“Oh, come on, you know we’re all thinking it. I bet he likes it rough; a dark, intense handsome as sin man like him would,” Lettie said, looking to me to confirm her suspicions. My face heated at her question before I could come up with a reply.

“Don’t answer that, Nikki. It’s none of our business,” The redhead named Summer said.

“Look at how red she is, I think you were on to something, Lettie, but we won’t push you, Nikki,” Shay said, but her eyes said differently.

“If you ever feel the need to share, though, we are all ears,” Joe said, wriggling her eyebrows.

“I’ll keep that in mind,” I said, very uncomfortable. For goodness sakes, I just had sex for the first time. I am not ready to talk about it to strangers, and I get the feeling Stefan wouldn’t want me to.

“You know, though, I am sensing a pattern with some of our most intense leading men around here.” Lettie gave a pointed look at me, Mary and Summer. “It seems innocence is what brings these men to the table.”

“I think you’re right, Lettie,” Ann said, smiling at us.

“You all need to keep your business in your own bedrooms. Now, Nikki, how did you meet Vampire?” Mary asked.

“I work at Scarlett; he hired me.”

Joe gasped, “You’re a stripper?”

“No, I am a waitress there. I don’t strip,” I said.

“Phew, there for a minute, I thought I was wrong about the whole innocent thing. Glad to see I still got it,” Lettie said, smirking.

“Where is Mandy? She said she would be here,” Summer asked, changing the subject.

“At the last minute, Soldier took her on a surprise outing. She sent me a text last night letting me know she wouldn’t be here,” Shay said, giving everyone a knowing glance.

“Figures, Soldier seems to surprise her every time we get together. Almost like he doesn’t want her talking to us,” Lettie said, her eyes going to slits. I had no idea who either of the people they talked about was, but I gathered there was a story there.

Stefan returned with a dark-haired man who went to sit by Mary, who must be Shadow. I got to my feet. “Come on, let’s get out of here,” Stefan said, taking my hand.

I waved at the group of women. “It was nice meeting you all.”

“I’m sure we will see you again soon,” Lettie said, winking, the other women giving their agreement.

“They behaved themselves, I hope,” Stefan said when we reached his bike outside.

“They tried, but it wasn’t bad; they seemed really nice.”

“They are nice, just nosey as fuck,” Stefan chuckled.

“That they are,” I said, smiling up at him, causing his eyes to heat.
