Completely and utterly wrong.
As soon as I see in the box, I smile.
One thing I will give to Cullen - he loves my passion for music.
While that passion has taken a backseat recently, he has a way to remind me of it.
“What is that thing?” Maz asks.
“It’s not in the shape of a penis,” Birdie says.
“It’s a recorder,” I say.
“A, what?” Maz asks.
“It’s a recorder,” I say. “To record music. I’ve always wanted one of these. This is… I’m going to take this into the bedroom.”
“Are you sure it’s not a sex thing?” Birdie asks.
“It’s not a sex thing,” I say.
I go into the bedroom and sit on my bed.
Growing up I always wanted a recorder.
My dream had always been to sit in my room and record some songs and then have those songs somehow go viral. Then I’d get a music deal and become rich and famous.
I have the expensive guitar that Cullen gave me first.
Now I have the recorder.
There’s a note waiting for me too.
From Cullen.
Jaci -
Don’t go quiet on me now, love. I want to hear your voice. I want to feel your music. I want all of you. I know you feel the same about me too.
Love,
Cullen
The fact that he puts the wordlovethere… I’m gushing.
Blushing.
My body is warm.
I put the recorder on the bed and think about grabbing my guitar and testing it out.
I’m suddenly too anxious to do anything.
I leave the bedroom and leave the dorm.
As soon as I’m outside, I stand on the sidewalk and look around.
That’s when I see Archer.
