I hear a whistle and I turn my head.

Rosa is sitting at a table.

For some reason I smile even bigger at her.

A familiar face.

Even though it’s a familiar face I shouldn’t even know about.

“Rough night?” Rosa asks.

“Rough… for a bit,” I say.

“Coffee and a walk?”

“Yeah,” I say. “Kind of hiding for the day.”

“Perfect,” Rosa says.

I get in line and order my coffee.

By the time I get my coffee, Rosa looks like she’s ready to go.

I hurry over to her.

“Coffee and a walk,” she repeats. “Cheers, Jaci.”

She waves her cup at me.

Then she taps a finger on the table.

I look down and see azaza.

I gasp.

“This one is on me,” she whispers.

Rosa exits the cafe.

I pick up thezazaand waste no time in swallowing the pill.

I then pull my hood up, put my sunglasses on, and I walk back to the dorm.

I crash back into my bed but don’t sleep.

I just think.

Maz and Birdie come back from their classes.

They bring pizza.

I lose track of time and next thing I know it’s dark out again.

I’ve literally wasted an entire day.

I don’t feel guilty at all either.

Thezazawears off.
