They can’t touch me. They can’t hurt me.
I basically own them all.
One of theSavagesanswer the door.
He’s shirtless.
Tattoos on his chest.
Staring at me with deadly eyes.
His lip curls.
He knows who I am.
I don’t know who he is.
“You know why I’m here,” I say.
“I’ll go get him.”
As the guy turns, I grab his arm. “Him? As in…Archer?”
“Yo, Killian, who’s at the door?” a voice calls out.
“A surprise guest,” Killian calls back.
Another guy appears.
Dressed in all black.
With black hair and a little scruff on his face.
“Jaci Ruby,” he says.
“And you are?” I ask.
“Rowe,” he says. “Crillis. And this is Killian. From theAthafamily.”
“Good to know,” I say. “I’m not here for a history lesson.”
“She’s here to see someone,” Killian says.
“I’ll figure this out myself,” I say.
I walk toward the stairs.
“Be careful up there,” Rowe says. “You never know what you’ll find.”
I race up the stairs as fast as I can.
Now comes the game of me opening doors, looking for Archer.
The first door gives me nothing.
The second door gives me something right away.
Quinn Doyle.
