“I don’t think they’re going to have a big wedding. They can afford it, but neither of them want to do anything fancy. I think they’re just going to get married in the church and have a lunch afterwards.”
“In the next couple of weeks if I heard correctly.”
“There shouldn’t be rules when it comes to weddings. You should do what you can afford, and what you want, not what society dictates.” Charlene believed that with all her heart. Weddings become a royal headache, with so much stress and expense.
People stressed more over their weddings than they did over their marriages. They spent more time planning their weddings than they did on trying to keep their marriage together.
Sometimes the wedding wasn’t even paid for before they had to pay for a divorce.
She didn’t think that would be true with Dwight and Orchid. She’d never seen a couple who wanted to be together more than they did. It was hard to catch one of them without the other anymore.
She hoped those feelings lasted. It was sweet to see. Sweet to see two people who lived the Bible definition of love. Where each of them were more concerned about the happiness of the other, and were willing to sacrifice whatever it took.
Two people who were completely devoted to each other, who were loyal.
Dwight got the credit for that, since he started it.
And Orchid...what a blessing to have a man like that.
Charlene allowed herself to think about that for a little bit longer, because it warmed her heart and soul to see that kind of devotion, before the analytical part of her mind insisted that she go back and try to figure out what in the world she was going to do about Daphne.
