I sighed and rubbed my forehead, feeling a headache coming on. “Thank you for the update, I’ll reach back out if I need any other information.”
“Thank you, ma’am,” Mr. Tiddle said with a bob of a bow and scampered out of the room.
Large hands started to massage my neck, making me groan with how good it felt. “Don’t be making sounds like thatKeksík, unless you want me to take you right here right now.”
I glanced up at him. “We already had sex this morning.”
Savo shrugged. “Doesn’t matter, I’m pretty much already ready to knot you any chance I get.”
I laughed, leaning into his touch. “You say the sweetest things.”
He bent down and kissed me until I was breathless. “Only to you, my sweet girl.”
“How about we head home? He was the last meeting I had and I’m exhausted,” I sighed.
“Didn’t we all tell you that working while you're pregnant wasn’t the best idea? I mean, if it were up to me and Marius, you wouldn’t leave the house ever again, but we also don’t want to be kicked out of the nest for the rest of our lives,” Savo muttered as he helped me to my feet.
I ran a hand lovingly over my swollen belly I’d been waddling around with for six months. “I’m glad you realize the consequences of your actions. Now, I need a nap and like ten grilled cheeses. Do you think Bodhi will be home yet?”
The next second a phone was placed in my hand, with Bodhi’s name on the screen. I lifted it to my ear. “Hello?”
“Let me guess, you mentioned grilled cheese and now I’m getting a phone call,” Bodhi chuckled. “I don’t know what you did to scare Savo so badly that he won’t make another one for you, but I kind of love it.”
“He burnt it, the man tried to hand me a burnt grilled cheese,” I stated, glaring at the man in question. “That is as sacrilegious as it gets in our household. Anyways, we are on our way home and I wasn’t sure if you and Spencer were going to be back yet.”
“Don’t worry, Little Dove, I’m bringing the grilled cheese master home right now,” Spencer called out, telling me I was on speakerphone in the car. “How hungry is our little guy?”
“Well, he’s one of your sons, so I’m guessing at least three will be needed. God, if I wasn’t already the size of a whale, I would be with all I’m eating,” I muttered into the phone.
“None of that,” Spencer scolded. “We worked long and hard to get meat on those bones, and I for one, love that you’re a little extra squishy to cuddle.”
I rolled my eyes at his comment. “Alright, we’ll see you at home. I know Oscar is already there, and Rafael texted he was leaving ten minutes ago. Has anyone heard from our supreme leader?”
Spencer snorted. “God, the face he made when you used that the other night in the middle of things was priceless. I wish I had a camera to capture that moment and be able to show it to our little man when he arrives.”
“I had no idea he would like it so much,” I sighed. “He had me knotted for almost an hour and I had to pee so badly.”
“Hey, I offered to get a bucket,” Spencer teased.
Having had enough of that conversation, I hung up the phone and handed it back to Savo. “They’re on their way home.”
Savo grabbed the door as I waddled my way out of the office into the main hall of the Capitol Building. Imagine my surprise when I found out this was where Marius wanted me to have my office, making the Omega Recovery Project government backed. The people had spoken and they wanted action about this situation. It became so much more of my main focus, that Rafael had taken over the education part of things. I was sure once this little man made his appearance I’d have to hand off more things, but I wasn’t going to allow them to push me aside. This was my idea, and I was going to run it.
“What are you planning to do about the girls in the South?” Savo asked as we waited for the elevator.
I leaned into him, resting my head on his chest. “I don’t know, there isn’t much we have to go off in the South. The North borders our lands so it’s easier to have access, but it seems we might need to shift some of our people to learn about the President and the way he runs things. Even though it's bad they’re chained to a bed, at least they're taught to fight.”
“What if we were able to get to one of the girls and get them to help us?” Savo suggested. “If it’s too hard to get them from the South, we convince them to go North again. Then we’ll have a team there to bring them home.”
“That’s a smart idea, we just need someone who can get in contact with the girls. Plus, how do we know they will believe who we send? Asturg is known for keeping their people in the dark about what's happening outside their country,” I pointed out as we stepped onto the elevator.
“If I told you I had a connection, someone I trusted to help us in the South already, would you let me reach out to them?”
I turned and looked at my burly overprotective Alpha, who felt just as passionate about this program as I did. “Who?”
“I have a childhood friend, we haven’t spoken since I left Asturg. I didn’t want him to get in trouble with his father for us being friends when it was spread across the nation that I had abandoned my people,” Savo explained.
I placed a hand over his heart. “Tell me.”
