My cheeks heated at his declaration, allowing him to draw me closer and be pulled onto his lap. His lips found mine, and in another moment, my nightgown slipped over my head, and was tossed aside. “Now, it’s my turn to shower you with love so you have plenty to share with those who don’t know what it looks like,” Rafael whispered before taking my nipple in his mouth.
I sighed as his tongue swirled around it, then moaned when his teeth scraped gently over the tip. Grabbing his shoulders, my nails bit into his skin as he shifted me up and then settled me down on his cock. Letting gravity do the work until I was fully seated on his cock, I wrapped my arms around his neck and moved my hips at the urging of his hands. Rafael set the pace slow and deep, while our hands and mouths wandered over whatever skin they could find. We lost ourselves in each other, the room filled with the sound of our moans and heavy breathing as we made love.
Rafael turned us so I was on my back with him rutting into me as we hurtled toward our climax. His knot swelled, locking me in place, but it didn’t stop us from milking every ounce of bliss from the situation. He growled as he came, latching his mouth around my nipple and sucking in as much of the skin as he could before biting down. I cried out as I was hit with orgasm after orgasm from him marking me, and continuing to work his knot over the sensitive spots that only an Alpha could find. Wrapping my legs around him, I forced him to stop moving and torturing me with an overwhelming amount of stimulation as he continued to pay careful attention to my newest bond mark.
“Please, Rafael, I'm not sure I can take more,” I pleaded. “The bond makes everything so much more intense.”
At that, he released my breast and kissed the mark once more, before settling himself on top of me. I loved when he did this, covering my much smaller body with his large one until I wasn’t sure I could be seen. Our bond was flooding me with all his emotions and I let my hands wander over his skin, giving him time to adjust.
“This is incredible,” he whispered in awe. “I can feel you, like there is a part of you in my mind letting me know just how you’re feeling. Is that how it is for you?”
“Yes and no,” I mused. “When the bond is fresh it’s hard to ignore anything that's going on, but after a little while it settles into the background, and I can reach out to it when I want to know. Which is good, because I’m not sure I could handle this all the time for eight people. The Betas are different, it’s like they are another level or extension of the Alpha they are bonded to.”
“A miracle, that’s what this is. To think, we are blessed with something so amazing and integral to having a healthy pack,” Rafael mumbled as he reached down and pulled the blankets over us. “This is nothing like people describe. If they did a better job of it, I think more people would jump at the chance. Now they just fear the bond, believing there’s no privacy or autonomy once it happens.”
Yawning, I nuzzled his cheek. “I’ll add that to the list of things to teach in my new program.”
He chuckled, kissing me a few more times before we drifted off to sleep.
Chapter 31
Thenextweekwasa blur of activity within our household. Marius spent long hours at the Capitol Building as he and Alton restructured the whole government. They had meeting after meeting with advisors and other people of power within the current system, trying to find what would be best for our people. He would come home and flop into my bed with whoever else was there, or with Spencer if he couldn’t make it up the second flight of stairs.
Nixon, Spencer, and Bodhi were working hard at the shelter. The Alpha was getting them set up to handle things while Nixon geared up to help Marius once the new system was in place. Rafael split his time working at the shelter and helping me navigate a plan to earn my GED. Savo was my ever-present shadow, but when it came to history he was rather helpful in sharing what he knew of Asturg and Shearia. Oscar was catching up on all the projects he’d been pushing off for the last few weeks.
All of this made it rather challenging to have any quality time with my pack, and I knew they were just as bothered by it as I was. Family meals had been put on hold and we ate when we wanted, but I tried to make dinner and keep it in the oven or on the stove waiting for them when they returned home. During the downtime I had, Savo and I worked on projects to help streamline life together. Things wouldn’t always be like this and when it slowed down, what I was working on would be implemented fairly easily.
“Keksík,” Savo called from the base of the stairs. “Hurry up, we’re going to be late.”
“We’re not going to be late, you just want us to be there crazy early,” I grumbled as I took one final look in the mirror.
Today was the day Marius was going to announce the new government system and I would officially be presented as his Omega. Why I needed to be presented to the remaining government leaders made no sense, when we were just going to change the majority of it.
The dress was a beautiful shade of lavender with a sweetheart neck, capped sleeve, and a skirt that hit just above the knee. The skirt was pleated to give it some extra fullness and movement as I walked, which I loved. I had on low white heels that just made the whole thing so much classier. My teal hair was up in a soft braided knot with some of my wavy hair escaping around my face to give it a carefree look. Not being an artist with make-up, I’d done the best I could but kept it simple.
“You’ve got this,” I told myself. “If you want to change the world, then you have to let the world know you exist.”
With a final nod, I grabbed my white coat off my bed and headed downstairs where everyone but Marius would be waiting. It was Sunday, the day we were supposed to have together, but it seemed the country had other plans for us. In a way, I guess we should learn this might become more of a normal occurrence if Marius gets elected into the position of our nation's leader. They hadn’t revealed the title yet, not even to us, keeping it all incredibly hush hush. The news had been criticizing how fast this was happening but I wasn’t really sure how long they expected the nation not to have a functioning government.
A whistle pulled me out of my thoughts and I found all my men gawking wide eyed at me. Oscar nudged Bodhi. “Are we sure wehaveto do this?” he said a few more things but I was having trouble understanding it all.
Oscar, Savo, and myself spent a good chunk of time each day working on my singing skills. I was making great progress, but then again it was a whole new language to learn. There was so much to know, all the slight nuances or expressions, but it was absolutely worth it.
“Yeah, I agree we should just make a run for it now. How long do you think it will take Marius to find her with his bond connection?” Bodhi asked, looking at the others.
“What are you talking about?” I questioned, frowning at them all.
Nixon stepped forward and offered me his hand. “Only that you are going to be the most stunning woman at this event and none of us want to have to stab anyone for looking at you too closely.”
My jaw dropped. “You wouldn’t really stab them, would you?”
“That all depends on how respectful they are,” Savo answered. “Because I have zero problem making an example out of someone.”
I whacked him in the chest with a glare. “Don’t say things like that, people might take you seriously.”
Savo caught my hand and kissed the back of it. “Good, it will keep them alive longer.”
“Alright you cavemen, let's get in the limo before they leave without us,” Spencer announced, opening the front door.
