“Here, Little One, you need to be the official taste tester on this,” Rafael announced, holding a spoon with a sample of the infamous red sauce.
Leaning in, and seeing the steam wafting off it, I blew on it then wrapped my lips around the spoon. The flavor exploded on my taste buds so strongly that it took my brain a moment to process all the herbs and spices that were mixed into the bright tomato-based sauce.
“Wow,” I blurted. “That’s amazing!”
“You sure, you’re not just saying that to be kind?” Rafael challenged.
I shook my head vigorously. “No, that has to be one of the most delicious things I’ve ever tasted.”
“There she said it, can we please eat now?” Bodhi begged.
Rafael took a taste of the sauce and closed his eyes as he swallowed. “Okay, I think she’s right, it’s good enough.”
“Quick, hand him the ladle before he changes his mind,” Marius whispered loudly.
Rafael glared at him over his shoulder. “What’s the point in cooking something for six hours unless it's perfect?”
“No idea, since I would never make anything that would take six hours,” Marius pointed out. “Now that everything is on the table, can we please eat?”
“Who would have known that a simple sauce could make grown ass men act like children?” Savo chuckled. “You’d never guess that some of the most powerful and influential people were right here in this room.”
Spencer just flipped him the bird as he passed with a basket of garlicky smelling bread. “Just wait till you taste this and you’ll understand everything.”
“Yeah, we’ll see about that,” Savo muttered under his breath as he scooped me up, nuzzling into my neck. “How are you,Keksík? You had a rough night.”
“I’m fine, I promise,” I whispered, rubbing my cheek along his. “I had all of you to look after me.”
“Fat lot of good that did. If I’d known we’d be better off wearing you out with a good fucking, I would have done that right away,” Savo reasoned.
I scowled at him. “No, I’m glad you didn’t. That would have been an awful first time for us to be together. I rather like how things turned out.”
“Can’t say I minded either, finally getting to be inside my sweet little Omega, feeling you clenched so tightly around my knot as you milked me dry,” Savo said, adding his purr to make things even more elicit.
Wiggling out of his hold, I smacked him on the arm. “What is with all of you? Did I go into heat and not realize it or something?”
Marius just chuckled and he urged us both out into the dining room. “It's the bond, it makes Alphas a little extra randy for a time until the bond settles. It’s one reason why some packs take two weeks to a month when they have a newly bonded Omega. It’s too hard to keep your hands to yourself.”
“Wait, but all of you have been running around dealing with all sorts of problems,” I reasoned.
“Yes, and this morning is a perfect example of what happens when you deny it for too long, you just can’t hold back any more. I would expect more occurrences of that nature to happen if we’re home with you,” Rafael warned.
My eyes went wide as I looked at all the men seated at the table, looking at me like I should be the meal dished up. Part of me was worried that I wouldn’t be able to keep up with them, the other wasn’t so much, sending a shiver of anticipation down my spine.
“Come sit,” Rafael instructed. “You haven’t eaten all day and we can’t have that.”
Spencer dished up a serving of pasta as Oscar plopped on some bread and Rafael finished it off with some sauce. The plate was deposited in front of me and the others dove in, putting heaping mounds of food on their plates. While my appetite had grown, I wasn’t sure I would ever be able to eat as much as they did. The table fell silent, except for the sound of silverware on plates and moans of pleasure as we ate.
Once everyone was done with their first serving, Nixon started the family meeting. “First of all, I feel like this needs to be something we do weekly, if not more, so we can make sure we’re all getting to say our peace.”
“I agree, also Cambrie brought up a really good idea to have a combined calendar of all our schedules, so she knows where we are and when we’ll be home,” Spencer added. “This should also help us know who will be home, or if we need Savo to be here.”
“Why wouldn’t I be here?” Savo asked. “She is my Omega and I’m her bodyguard, wherever she is that’s where I’ll be.”
I reached across the table and grabbed his hand. “I don’t want you to stop working with Rick if you don’t want to. You’ve told me how much you enjoy the work, and if Bodhi along with Oscar are home, it gives you time to do your own thing.”
“Keksík, I don’t think you’ve quite grasped this yet butyouare my full time job now. There is abso-fucking-lutely nothing more important than making sure you are safe and sound. The only way that is going to happen is if I do it myself. Rick, of all people, will understand this,” Savo stated.
Letting out a sigh, I sat back in my chair. “If that is what will make you happy then I won’t argue, but you say the word and we’ll figure something out to give you free time.”
