“Sorry, babe. I won’t allow anyone to speak to you that way,” Ryker says. He pulls a zip tie out of his pocket and ties my dad's hands.

“You came prepared for anything, huh?” I grin.

“Always.” He grins back.

“Holy shit. Kerian, take a picture of me in front of the cage.”

I turn around at River’s voice. Kerian, River, and Bash have found us.

“You’re so stupid. I’m not doing that.” Kerian shakes his head.

“Come on, I can post it and claim I broke out of it,” River whines.

Bash rolls his eyes and turns his attention to us. He glances at my father on the ground, then back to Ryker. “Who is he?”

“My dad,” I state.

His eyes get big. “No shit?”

“Unfortunately. He is the one we have been looking for,” Ryker says.

“That sucks,” River strolls over, eating an apple. He must have given up on the picture. “Did he trick you into coming here?”

“Yes,” Ryker grits out.

“Wow,” River says. He whistles through his teeth. “Bad luck, you’ll never live that down.”

“My thoughts exactly,” Ryker says glumly.

“Fuck River,” Kerian says. He punches him in the side. “Why are you such an asshole?”

“He knows he fucked up.” River rubs his side, dropping the apple as he does. “Crap, that was good.”

“What are we doing with him?” Bash asks.

“Is John still in the basement?” Ryker asks.

“No, we took care of him,” Bash answers.

“Good. Put Bill in his place. He refuses to tell us where the shifters are. We need to find out.”

“I want a shot at him,” Kerian says. He looks at my dad with hatred.

River looks at him with surprise. “Damn, awesome,” he says, pride in his eyes as he looks at Kerian.

“Kerian, you can do the honors.” Ryker motions to my dad. “Let’s search this place. He might have been keeping some of them here.”

As Kerian drags my dad out, we all split up and look around the building. Ryker grabs my hand.

“You are with me,” he smiles. “Are you alright?”

“It’s a shock. It blows me away that he was capable of doing those horrible things. I’m dealing with it well, though. I think my mind is filtering my worries right now,” I say. I squeeze his hand when he looks doubtful. “Don’t worry.” I squeeze his hand. “I don’t smell any shifters except Kerian and River.” I’m getting used to the different smells.

“He may have found a way to mask their scents. We can’t underestimate him,” Ryker says.

We search everywhere with no luck. All we find is empty space, dust, and a few bottles of pain medication. Bash and River meet us back in the garage, not finding anything either.

“We go back to the club and get the information we need from the source,” Ryker says.
