“Good. Go with it.” He smirks, kisses me, and leaves, closing the door.

Not wasting time, I hop into the shower. As much as I appreciate Jax’s cleaning method, I need to use actual water. I finish in record time and search the drawers for pants.

I have no idea what time of day it is. My mates like to keep all the blinds closed, and I haven’t looked at my phone in a few days. I put on a bra under my tank, throw on some jeans, and call it good. Looking around, I locate my purse and pull my phone out. Not bothering to check it, I store it in my back pocket and leave the room.

The guys are laughing and joking when I enter the kitchen, making me smile. This is what I lacked in my life—the easy love and communication between family.

“What time is it?” The windows are finally open, the sun shining brightly in.

“Two-fifteen.” James jumps up to offer me a seat at the bar.

“Holy shit!” Where the hell did the day go?

“Time flies when you're having fun,” Blue smirks at me.

The guys freeze, staring in shock at Blue.

“What?” He scowls at them both.

“Did you just make a joke?” James asks dramatically.

“Shut it, asshole.” Blue rolls his eyes.

“Seriously, though,” James persists.

Blue’s response is to growl and flash his claws in James’s face.

Jax clears his throat pointedly. “Blue tells me you would like to go for a run.”

“Yeah, I’ve been looking forward to it since I met you guys.”

“Let’s eat first, and then we can go.”

“Is it safe here?” I question nervously.

“The security wall encompasses our property. No one is getting in without us knowing it,” Jax assures me, placing a plate full of nachos in front of me. “It’s the best I could do on short notice.”

I stare down, drooling at the cheesy goodness in front of me. “How did you know?”

“What, baby girl?”

“I love nachos. My absolute favorite meal.” I dig in, scooping up a loaded chip, placing it reverently in my mouth, closing my eyes. Savoring.

“Well, guess I will be making it all the time.” Jax decides while filling the other plates. The guys talk while we finish off the meal.

I help bring the dishes to the sink, getting ready to wash them. James stops me from filling the sink.

“There's time for that later. Let’s run first. My panther is excited to meet yours.”

We make our way outside. My panther is vibrating, anxious to meet theirs, already fighting to get out. The guys move to the lawn and turn to face me.

“Do you want to change first? We can turn our backs,” James offers.

“I’m good.” Not hesitating, I reach for my shirt, stripping quickly, enjoying the shocked looks on the guy’s face.

I walk the rest of the way to them, standing in front of them naked. “What are we waiting for?” I grin.

They strip in record time, leaving their clothes where they fall. I try not to look at anything below the neck, not getting distracted.
