Her encouragement was all I needed. I continued thrusting deep and slow, her skin against mine as I made love to her. I drank in the sight of her. A brilliant smile broke across her mouth. Seeing her so happy made me want to invite her to stay in my bed and never let her leave. Her whispered pleas as she grew closer to an orgasm set the pace, and soon we were climaxing together like the beautiful crescendo in my favorite musical piece. We lay tangled in each other, enjoying the blissful afterglow, with Melody gazing into my eyes. I placed little kisses all over her skin while we simply laid there, listening to the sounds of each other breathing. Our first time together had been everything I’d thought about and more. I loved the way she fit in my arms, her soft supple breasts pressing against my chest. Allowing each other to justbewas the best way to end our chaotic night.

Chapter Eleven

Melody

After worshiping my body with his hands and his mouth, he turned me into a proper melty pile of goo. The blissful relaxation lasted for a while before we got dressed. Enjoying the alone time, it took us a while to get into his car so he could take me home. Bosco lectured me for the entire car ride back to my apartment, barely pausing to take a breath as he prattled on and on about the directives Seth had given regarding my injuries, things I needed to avoid doing, how I needed to give my body time to heal, and the like.

“Yes, Sir,” I answered automatically, having said the same two words half a dozen times in a row.

“Don’t ‘yes sir’ me to death simply to agree, little Powerpuff,” he warned. “I’m absolutely serious about taking breaks. You need to relax your wrist outside of the brace. Sit down. Feet up. Resting both hands. Taking the medication. No mindless scrolling on your phone or playing games.Capisci?”

“I know what resting my hands and feet mean, Daddy.” I sighed. “I will.”

“Limited orders for the next three weeks. I know how important it is for you to take custom requests, but you’ve got to allow your injuries to heal.”

“I understand. It makes sense even though I don’t want to refuse business; custom orders take a lot more time and effort.”

“Speaking of time, no working more than eight hours on any given day. You’re going to completely burn yourself out if you keep going the way that you are, dulcita.”

Ugh. Wanting a Daddy and having a Daddy set rules were entirely different things. He hit the nail on its head. I had told him in so many words that I had been doing that exact thing. Working entirely too many hours without enough relaxation time. “I will do my best. I’m not used to relaxing, so it’s going to take me a minute to add it to my routine.”

“Then I’ll simply find additional ways to help you relax, little Powerpuff.” He waggled his eyebrows at me before parking directly behind my SUV. It wasn’t a dedicated spot, but he wasn’t staying long. “I could use some of my own advice. We can sit in the park or take a walk. Check out the shops nearby, go to the movies?”

“Yes, I’d love to spend more time with you. I’m just not used to someone else caring for me or hanging out. I’ll do my best to do as you’ve asked.”

“I don’t remember asking,dulcita.”

“I’ll do as you said, Daddy.” I nodded, lost in my thoughts. My brain was buzzing from the instructions being thrown at me and it was a lot to process. “Do you think you could write down all of that so I won’t forget?”

Bosco undid his seatbelt and mine. “Yes, I’ll write them down for you. This time I won’t make you copy them, but if you break them, then I reserve the right to change my mind on that when your wrist is back to normal.” He shut off the car and walked around to my side. Opening the door, he lifted me up into his arms. “I hated that you were injured tonight, but I truly enjoyed spending time with you.”

“Thanks for rescuing me, Daddy.”

“Thank you for trusting me, my little Powerpuff.”

My heart was nearly bursting from everything that happened. All of his attention, care, and even our sensual moments combined to make my whole body feel lighter than air. Well, except for my butt which burned like I’d been standing next to the oven for too long.

I looked forward to walking Tira with him at the park and exploring Hopevale together since he likely knew of the hidden spots that weren’t searchable on the internet. Fun places to hang out with him. I couldn’t wait to tell Laney all about our night together. Well, maybe not all of it. Despite my injury, for the first time in forever, I felt genuinely happy. I was wildly optimistic that everything was going to work out exactly as it should.

Chapter Twelve

Melody

Laney and I both slept in and were having a lazy morning together. It was so amazing having my bestie back and I had so much to tell her, but I couldn’t help the little niggle of doubt in my belly that last night had been a dream. If it weren’t for my sore wrist and knees, I think I could have convinced myself that it was indeed some sort of crazy hallucination.

Laney was lying with her head in my lap as we watched a cartoon, and I thanked my lucky stars that the bakery was closed today so we could relax. I did have to go in and prep for tomorrow, but that could wait.

“Soooo, are you going to tell me what happened last night or not?” Laney blinked her huge blue eyes at me.

“Yeah,” I sighed dreamily. I wanted to tell her everything, but my brain was still in a kind of a sleepy haze. Boz had returned me to our apartment pretty late, and she’d been asleep already. He’d explained how he’d left my keyring for Laney with Zio as he lifted the welcome mat outside the door to get the key. He had tucked me into bed and kissed me like I’d never been kissed before. I touched my fingers to my mouth remembering how his soft lips moved against mine while he tangled his hands lightly in my hair. Butterflies stormed my belly and I sighed again. “Can you fall in love from one amazing night?”

“Hm.” She sat up and grabbed her coffee. Sipping from the huge lollipop-printed mug in her hands, she shrugged. “If you can dislike someone from one argument, I suppose you can fall in love just as quickly.”

“I’m so sorry for ditching you last night.” I changed to the topic that was bothering me the most. Those butterflies had been replaced with knots of guilt. “I wanted to just go to bed after I fell, but Bosco insisted on getting my wrist checked by a doctor.”

“It’s okay. I’m glad you let him take care of you. When you ran off, I tried to go after you, but Enzio caught me and all but begged me to let you two work it out. Plus, he tempted me with fried cheese, and well, we all know I can’t turn down fried cheese.”

“I come second to fried cheese? Got it.” I raised a brow at her in jest.
