But despite his size and teeth and claws, I got the feeling Griffin wouldn’t hurt a fly if it could be avoided.

He shifted to his human form, and Sam must have given him clothes because he now wore a gray tee and jeans.

His eyes moved around, and when they rested on me, he smiled. The royal blue of his eyes was gorgeous beneath the blue sky. His blond hair was windswept and short, and his jaw could have cut diamonds.

Os’s features were slightly more feminine. Wide eyes. Full lips. A beautiful V-shaped jaw.

In height, Os was below both Sam and Griffin but taller than me.

All three of them stared at me as I approached.

Yesterday, I’d just been an omega in a wolf pack. Today, I was hanging out with three beautiful guys who hadn’t tried to attack me.

Not too bad, even if one of them did consider me a dog.

One thing that still bothered me was that Sam had kissed me and told me to wake up before he’d saved me from Zane.

But since then, he hadn’t wanted to touch me. Even to carry me in the sky. He’d only lifted me down from Griffin. Otherwise, he’d avoided me.

And I didn’t like it, though I wasn’t sure why.

Griffin strode forward, all wide shoulders and towering muscles. He brushed a lock of my hair back that was blowing in my face. “You feeling any better?”

I nodded then, before I could resist, hugged him. “Thank you for sticking up for me.”

He gladly gave me a hug back.

I heard a low growl and saw Sam approaching rapidly, his hand on his katana sheath, which looked odd with his tee shirt and jeans.

“Stop that,” he said, pointing at us. “We don’t have time for that.”

I pulled back from Griffin, who frowned and folded his arms. “What are you going to say about it? She’s only a dog to you. Why do you care who hugs her?”

Sam’s eyes flashed, and I could almost swear his black irises with gold at the centers turned red for a second. But it could have just been an odd effect of the sunlight catching his eyes at a certain angle. “She’s my pet, not yours.”

Griffin let out a low growl. “I don’t like any of this. You can’t have a human as a pet.”

“She’s not human. She’s a shifter,” Sam said, as if that made it better.

“Shifters have a human side too,” Griffin said, advancing on Sam. “This isn’t going to work if you aren’t going to treat us as such.”

Sam just glared at him, looking like he was picturing how many ways he could dismember Griffin and get away with it.

He probably was.

Sam then gestured to Os, who was standing behind him and walked forward to extend a hand to Griffin. “This is Os. Short for Helios.”

“We’ve met,” Griffin said faintly, and then for some reason, his handsome face went completely red.

“Have we?” Os tapped his chin. “You would think I’d remember.” He beamed at Griffin. “Regardless, I’m delighted to make your acquaintance.”

Griffin finally took Os’s outstretched hand, shaking it in his much bigger one. When he released the angel’s hand, Griffin’s face was redder than ever. He turned away from us, fanning himself. “It’s hot out, isn’t it?”

Sam just rolled his eyes and muttered something. “I’m going to get food.” He looked between us. “I’m going to remove my tethers. You both have to swear to stay with Os.” He looked around us shrewdly. “This isn’t a place where we can split up.”

“Can I run in my wolf form?” I asked, pleading. It would feel so good, especially in this beautiful place. There was a small, shaded woods area across the stream where I could have sworn I heard a small waterfall where the stream came down from a nearby mountain we’d flown over.

I was dying to explore it.
