Page 73 of Powerful Deception

When I took over this business, I told myself that I wouldn’t touch one thing, and that was drugs.

I could launder money, murder whatever fucker owned me money, hell I could even distribute military grade weapons. Yet out of all the things I could do with my new title and new resources, I decided to never get near drugs. Marijuana, Cocaine, anything, I wasn’t going to touch yet.

Things change though. People grow older, opinions change, and business gets tougher and tougher.

That’s why when Santos told me their proposal, an enticing one at that, I found myself agreeing.

About two years ago, I Elliot came to me with an offer from the Muertos. They wanted to move product in through the Canadian border. Much like today, I had agreed to let them, since it would have meant money in my pocket. I wouldn’t have a direct hand in it. But that never happened.

Now it is happening and this time around I do have a direct hand in letting the deadliest cartel in the world into my streets.

With a stipulation of course. They sell their cocaine to whoever they fuck they won’t, but kids.

Surprisingly, they agreed.

Now nearly six hours later, all the details are settled and now only me and Bennett are left in the conference room.

“I can’t believe that you of all people is letting the cartel step foot into city limits.” I muse to him, sipping the scotch that he handed me about ten minutes ago.

Bennett is silent for a moment, looking out at the view of the city before letting out a sigh.

“Someone has to do what’s right for this city. The politicians aren’t doing anything, and you know my board members would rather make money than help the people they employ, the people that are struggling. Me knowing that the cartel is within city limits gives me a bit more control and if the city politicians want the cartel out, then they need to get off their asses and do something about it.”

For as long as I’ve known him, this man has always tried to make the city that we call home a better place.

Something that he learned from his father he told me once.

As the owner and CEO of the most influential company in the world helps him achieve that, but from what he tells me, the board members only care about themselves. They care about getting richer, not caring about how they go about it or who suffers.

I’m sure if he really wanted to, Bennett Lane would give away every penny he had to help the people that really needed it.

The city needs more people like him, and not murderous individuals like me.

“A CEO that is using corruption to take down corruption.”

Bennett lets out a snort at my comment. “Drake calls me the real-life batman.”

I can’t help but laugh at thinking that Elliot’s youngest brother sees his uncle that way.

He’s halfway there. Billionaire CEO that helps the city in every way he can, loves to buy fast and expensive toys, I definitely see it.

“The kid might be onto something. You should have a suit made.” I say, which causes Bennett to let out a laugh that I don’t think I’ve heard since we were teenagers.

“I’m going to take a wild guess that you finally found a nanny.” He says, changing the subject.

I just wish the subject wasn’t the nanny.

The same nanny that I left speechless when I left this morning. The one that I fucked last night until she was breathless.

“Yes, I hired a nanny. She just finished her first month.” I voice.

“And why don’t you look happy about this nanny?” Bennett asks, throwing me a raised eyebrow.

I throw a shrug in his direction. “She’s young.”

Young, beautiful and filled with my cock less than fifteen hours ago.

“And that’s a bad thing?” He asks and before I can even answer his question, he speaks again as if he realized something. “Ah I get it. It’s a bad thing because you find her attractive and want to fuck her.”
