I sigh. “Because I’m not supposed to be here.”

Camila continues to look at me with confusion until she finally nods.

“Whatever it is that you are planning, do it fast.” She tells me, before she walks away.

I should give Camila more credit. She knows a lot more about what happens in this world than what I want to believe.

A few seconds after Camila leaves, Serena walks right passed me without noticing me.

That’s when I step out of hiding, because I know her husband is not far behind.

“Everything all set?” he asks, not even questioning me about not being inside already.

I nod. “Yup, just waiting for this stupid ceremony to begin.” I say looking around making sure I don’t catch anyone's attention.

Leo nods. “She’ll probably be pissed but it’s the only way,” he says as I hear a door open down the hall.

The white skirt catches my attention first, and as more and more of the dress comes out of the room, my eyes travel up.

Isabella is standing at the end of the hall, looking like an angel. She looks absolutely stunning. She’s literally taking my breath away.

Leo abandons me and walks over to his sister where she’s surrounded by Camila and Serena.

It takes everything in me not to walk over to her and take her in my arms before placing my lips on hers, all the while I tell her how beautiful she looks.

Today she’s not my bride, she’s someone else's. I was able to see that she was okay, now it’s time for me to do the job I came here to do.

Yet my feet stay rooted in place and I continue to watch her as she walks down the long hallway. She doesn’t notice me until she’s only a few feet away.

Her eyes tell me that she wants to be angry with me because I didn’t listen to her orders, but after a few seconds I can see that the anger is replaced with relief.

I give her a small smile and for a few seconds, we’re lost in our own little bubble.

That is until I hear Ronaldo’s voice.

Both of our gazes fall to her father, who is just looking at his daughter with indifference.

So much for being happy on your little girl’s big day.

Isabella tells him yes and they start lining up in formation. I take that as my cue to take my place within the chapel, but before I do that, I give one last look over to Isabella, but she doesn’t notice that I’m looking at her.

Forgive me, bella.

Please forgive me.

Before I turn away, I notice the murderous stare on Ronaldo’s face aimed in my direction.

He might have seemed indifferent a few minutes ago, but that indifference is now gone. I can tell by how tightly he is holding his jaw, that he knows I’m up to something and he’s mad that he won’t be able to stop me.

I give him a curt nod and make my way into the chapel and take my seat.

The music starts to play and slowly the progression of the small wedding party starts to file, but I don’t look at them.

No, my eyes are focused straight ahead. To the bastard that is standing in front of the altar with a smug look on his face like he won the lottery.

Sorry, motherfucker. Luck will be on your side but not in the way that you think.

The music changes and everyone stands up to watch the bride enter the room on her father’s arm.
