CHAPTER 21
KADE
The bell rings and I stand from my seat at the back of the room, walking out to the hall by myself considering Mark and the boys skipped out to smoke a joint about a half hour ago. Ignoring all the students milling about between classes, I make my way to the library to check on Nicky before I have to leave him again. He’s not at any of the round tables where he usually sits to study, so I keep going and check the aisles, gritting my teeth when I realize he’s not in here.
This little brat.
Knowing he’s hiding from me, I drag a hand over my mouth and take my phone out to call him, pulling my head back in anger when the fucker sends me to voicemail. I’m just about to call him again, but then a text comes through and I stop walking to read it.
Nicky: Can’t answer. I’m in the library.
I frown at that, looking around again before I text him back.
Kade: Upstairs?
Nicky: Yep.
I let out a sigh and head up to the upper level, finding him sitting at a table with his back to me, his black hood pulled over his head while he writes away in his notebook. I smile to myself and walk over to him, leaning over his shoulder to rest my hand on the back of his chair.
“You’re not funny,” I whisper in his ear, pulling his hood down to run my fingers through his hair.
Only his hair isn’t black, and that’s not fucking Nicky.
Jasper tips his head back on my chest and I quickly get out from behind him, scrunching my nose when I catch the stupid smirk on his face.
“What the fuck are you doing?” I grit out, looking around again to search for my brother.
“Homework,” he says simply, making a show of rolling his eyes as if I’m the idiot here.
“Where’s Nicky?”
“Last time I saw him was in the shower,” he informs me, groaning quietly while he pulls on his dick through his jeans. “He was so fucking tight and soft, man. Do you think he shaves his hole or is it naturally that hairle—”
Before he can finish, I grab the back of his neck and smash his cheek into the table, my nostrils flaring with the effort it’s taking not to throw him across this fucking room. I know he’s a lying bitch, but still…
“I’m gonna kill you.”
“Is that so?” he mumbles against the wood, laughing at me as if he thinks I’m joking. “Right here in front of all those people downstairs? That’s awfully bold of you.”
I growl and let him go, ripping my hands through my hair while I look over the railing above the floor below.
Something’s not right.
Nicky’s not here.
But he told me he was here…
Just as I think it, my eyes widen and I spin around to look at Jasper, grabbing him again to search his jeans for Nicky’s phone. I throw him down on his back and pull it out from his pocket, locking my jaw when I find the silver knife I gave to Nicky the other night.
No…
Jasper grins happily and opens his mouth to say something, but he doesn’t get the chance before I take him by his throat and slam his head down on the table.
“Tell me where he is.”
“I already told y—”
“Where the fuck is my brother?!” I shout, my right hand shaking as I push the tip of the blade into his jaw.
