“Where’d you think you’re going?” Damon teases, snatching my hand to pull me back.
I frown but I don’t argue.
The four us step up to her and move to surround her on all sides like wolves surrounding their prey. Damon keeps hold of my hand and stands at her back, Kai and I stay on her sides and Wren stands toe to toe with her, smirking like a fucking maniac.
“Did she hurt you, baby?” He teases, lifting his hand to trail a finger over the spot where her pulse is damn near flying from her neck.
She pales even more if that’s possible, frozen where she stands with no way to escape. “W-Wren.. please.”
He laughs lightly, leaning down to speak in her ear. “You’re leaving tonight, right?”
She nods, shaking like a leaf.
“Better make it now.”
She quickly moves to leave, screaming when he grabs a fist full of her hair and pulls her back to his chest.
We smirk and step forward as one.
“If we ever see you again..” Wren warns, forcing her head back to look at us. “We won't just ruin your life. We'll end it.”
She sobs, squeezing her eyes shut.
Wren releases her with a shove and she stumbles a little, then she takes off running without looking back. As soon as she’s gone, three pairs of eyes slide my way and I sigh, licking my lips when they just stand there staring at me.
“What?”
“How long you been waitin’ to do that?” Wren asks me, tipping his chin at the double doors his cheating whore of an ex-girlfriend just ran through.
I shrug, biting the pad of my thumb. “Not long.”
He laughs at me again and I roll my eyes, jumping a little when he steps forward and wraps his arms around my waist. I freeze for a solid three seconds, and then I relax and slide my arms around his neck, hugging him back.
“Thank you.” He whispers, speaking over my hair so only I can hear him.
I nod, dropping my head on his chest to hide the way my heart aches for him.
Just then, the bell rings and students come filing out into the hall, most with their eyes on us while they move to switch their books out between classes. The freshman kid I paid passes me with a big ass grin on his face and I glare, snatching the cash from his hand.
“Gimme that, you little shit.”
“Hey!” He snaps, spinning to face me. “What the hell?”
“Don’t tell means don’t fuckin’ tell.”
He scoffs, looking to his kings. “Thanks a lot, boys.”
Damon raises a brow, probably impressed by the balls on this kid, then he takes out his wallet and tosses him two hundred bucks. My jaw drops and Damon grins, closing the distance between us to take my waist in a possessive grip that has my toes curling. He teases my lips with his and I tense, very aware of the eyes on me, but I don’t pull away.
“Why’d you do it?”
“Do what?”
“You know what.”
“You know why.”
“I wanna hear you say it.”
