His brows raise and he looks at me over her shoulder, mouthing. “The fuck?”
I shrug, sighing when she moves on to do the same with Kai. “Come here, sweet boy. We all need a little lovin' from time to time.”
The three of them eye her like she's straight outta crazy town and I can't say I blame them. She's freaky as fuck and everyone knows it. She's harmless, though, which is why I lean back and watch when she moves on to Damon. She pats the space above his heart and he stays frozen where he stands, eyeing her warily when she looks up and crooks her finger. He hesitates but does as he's told, leaning down so she can whisper something in his ear. He looks at me while she speaks and I pull my brows in, taking my cash from Dean when he hands it to me.
“Ma!” Benny shouts, speaking around his donut. “Will you quit it with the psychic bullshit? It's creepy.”
She spins to face her son and glares, pointing a long finger in his face. “Don't take that tone with me, young man.”
He nods once, swallowing. “Yes, ma'am.”
I laugh at that, bumping each of the guys' fists before tipping my chin at the boys. “Let's go.”
They follow me out and I roll my shoulders, physically and mentally preparing myself for what I know is coming. As expected, Damon grabs me as soon as we're outside and throws me back against Rachel's car, gripping my throat and getting in my face.
“Are you out of your fucking mind?” He snaps, squeezing my waist so hard I'm sure he'll leave a mark. “You-”
“I what?” I snap back, shoving his chest. “I told you not to come. I warned you it was dangerous. And illegal. I get you're mad I put you and your little brothers at risk tonight but that's your problem and your fucking fault, not mine.”
His brows dip and he licks his lips, moving in even further to speak over mine. “You really don't get it, do you?”
“Get what?” I rasp, digging my nails into his biceps when he wraps his arm around my back and pulls me into him.
“This is dangerous for you.” He explains, pulling me back by my jaw when I try to look away. "You could go to jail for this. You could die for this, Callie."
I pull my head back and bounce my eyes between his, searching for intent because there has to be a reason he keeps doing this to me. Saying these words and doing these things that make me feel these things I shouldn't be feeling.
Stupid, stupid girl.
“Why do you pretend to care?”
“Who says I'm pretending?”
I frown, trying not to fall for it but fuck if he doesn't look like he means every word.
He sighs out a breath, prying my hand from my necklace to hold it between my chest and his. “You tired?”
I nod and close my eyes on his chest while he takes Rachel's keys from my pocket, allowing myself to slip for just a moment because yeah, I'm so fucking tired.
“Hey, gorgeous, you wanna party-”
The coked up whore with her tits pressed up on Kai's chest shuts her mouth and raises her hands when I lift my gun to her chest, rolling her eyes when she sees it's me.
“Get the fuck away from him.”
“Finally come to your senses and accepted your true calling, huh, Callie?” She cocks her head, eyeing all three boys with clear dollar signs in her eyes. “Nice work, kid. Your Daddy would be proud.”
I glare, lowering my gun to the ground by her feet to pull the trigger. She screams and jumps out of her fucking skin, stepping even closer to Kai like she thinks he’ll protect her, so I point it at her face.
“Are you crazy?!”
“Don't make me tell you again, Brit.”
She scoffs and tosses her bleach blond hair over her shoulder, shaking her ass for good measure while she walks away.
“Is it weird I find you insanely hot?” Kai asks, grinning when Damon looks from me to him. “Like really fuckin' hot, steal my brother's girl hot, fuck her right here over the hood hot-”
“Shut the fuck up.”
