Fuck me, he’s sexy.
My mind drifts back to the way his cock rubbed up against my pussy earlier tonight and my walls clench in response. This is only the second time since we've met that we've been this close and he hasn't grabbed me, and just like the other day in the kitchen, I strangely find myself wishing he would.
Kai snorts and I jump a little, releasing my bottom lip from between my teeth when I catch him staring at me. He smirks like an asshole so I flip him off, dropping down on the cushioned couch opposite Damon while Wren takes the seat next to him and Kai takes the one next to me.
“What happens now?” I ask, wiping the fresh blood from my lip when I realize I made it bleed with my teeth.
“We get fucked up until we can't think or see straight.” Wren grins, leaning back to smoke his joint.
I laugh lightly, allowing Kai to lift my legs across his lap while I lean over to take the fresh glass of whiskey Damon passes me.
The vibe between us shifts then, but I'm not fooling myself into believing this is something it's not.
We're not friends, we're allies with a common enemy.
And that's how it'll stay.
Chapter 12
Callie
“You look like shit.”
I grin and step through Dean's front door, lightly tapping his chest. “That's because I'm hung over and high as fuck on rich people weed.”
He rolls his eyes at that, being a cop and all, but he knows his no driving under the influence speech would fall on deaf ears, which is why he just shakes his head at me and follows me inside. “You're late.”
“Rachel was busy today.” I explain, moving my eyes around his small but immaculately clean three bedroom house. “Where is everyone?”
“Benny and the guys found themselves a bachelorette party on the strip and my Mom went with them, said she needed to find a new crystal ball or some shit.”
I laugh at that, knowing he's not even a little bit joking. Zelena's got a heart of gold and she’d do pretty much anything for her two boys, but that doesn't excuse the fact she's fucking crazy.
“You ever gonna fly the nest, Anderson?”
“They live with me, smart ass. This is my fuckin' house.”
“Whatever you say, Momma's boy.”
He glares, tossing his police duffel on the kitchen counter to grab me what I came for. “You're fired.”
“Is that right?” I smirk, taking the brick sized wooden box he hands me and turning it over in my hand. “This is it?”
“Did you expect me to spring for an urn?”
I laugh lightly, tossing him the white paper bag of donuts I picked up from Honey's in LA on my way here, his brothers' favorite place on the west coast. “For Benny.”
“You spoil him.” He teases, knocking my chin while he eyes the box in my hand. “What will you do with him?”
“He said he wanted his ashes spread across the football field where he learned to play the game when he was a kid.”
He nods, understanding. “You're headed there now?”
“What do you think?” I raise a brow, walking back to the door.
“You sure, babe?” He frowns, leaning his shoulder on the wall to watch me leave. “I know he was a useless piece of shit half the time but he was still your Dad. You can't take something like that back.”
No.. you can't.
