She giggles and tenderly kisses my lips. “I meant in general. Whenever you want. I see how your eyes darken when I call you sir. And I want to give you everything you need.”

“You’re making me hard again.”

“I’ll take that as a yes.”

“Don’t toy with me, woman. I have lots of rope on the ranch.”

“Good.”

I close the door of the truck and lead her back inside the Moose. Despite the temperature outside, taking a break to fuck my girl has my body pleasantly warm and buzzed.

On the way back to the table, we catch up with Cade and Victory, who are taking turns riding the mechanical bull.

“Did you find it?” Victory asks.

“Find what?” Ashley replies.

Victory frowns. “Your phone.”

“What phone? The one that was in my purse the whole time?”

And then Victory catches on, her eyes widening before she starts giggling. “You didnot. It’s literally below freezing.”

“It was actually pretty hot out there,” Ashley replies.

“My man,” Cade says, with a chuckle. “Alright, you win for the night. Wait. Maybe I can redeem myself. Angel, will you fuck me on the mechanical bull?”

“No shot,” Victory replies.

“Damn. Yeah, okay, I can’t one-up you tonight, man.”

These are my closest friends, so I have no issue with them knowing the real reason Ashley and I took a quick break. Hell, I don’t care if everyone in the restaurant knows.

And something about how proud Ashley is to be with me and how unashamedly she wants me hits me right in the heart.

She has the power to make me feel like a god, like I’m walking on water, and I’m getting addicted to it. It’s dangerous considering she’s leaving, but I’m just not built for one-night rodeos anymore.

My heart is going to end up obliterated again, but fuck, all I’m made for is her and there’s really no denying it.

“Let’s go order some cake,” Ashley suggests. “Mmm, or maybe deep-fried ice cream.”

“Gavin already had dessert,” Cade says, and I’m surprised he’s not pouting. “Victory. C’mon. It’ll be so hot to do it on the bull.”

“I’ll give you head on the way home.”

“Fuck, we’re outta here,” Cade jokes.

“Can’t let that asshole get the better of me,” I say, grinning at Ashley.

“You know I’ve got you covered,” she returns, with the sexiest smile that has me hoping it’s true.

“You’re the best,” I reply. “Alright, let’s get some cake, babe.”

My phone has been vibrating in my pocket, and it’s so incessant that I pause to check the display. I feel okay, so nothing happened to Bobby, but maybe he just needs to ask me something.

But it’s Henry.

“Wait, hold up,” I say, and Ashley turns around with a smile.
