Chapter 21

Victory

“Please,”Ibeg.Itis more than just wanting to touch him – though I desperately do. I also want our connection back.

The only sign of his need is the tightness in his jaw and the hunger in his eyes. Otherwise, he looks perfectly put together when he yanks his shirt on. “We don’t have time.”

“I’ll be fast,” I promise, wanting nothing more than to feel him release his hot cum in my eager mouth. “I still remember exactly what you crave.” I want to hear his sounds and see the vulnerability in his eyes when he loses control.

He leans his forehead against mine and groans. “Stop making me crazy. If you keep it up, I’m going to fucking cancel Halloween.”

I burst out laughing. “Cade–”

“Tonight,” he insists. “I want to take my time. I’ve missed you for way too long to rush sex with you. I know what it means to you, angel, and I’m going to give you everything you need. Everything I have is yours, and you’re my girl. That means you’re meant to be savored.”

Shivering in his arms, I marvel at his self-possession, but doubt must linger in my eyes.

“I need to be inside you,” he murmurs against my neck. “I’m aching for you right now, and I have been ever since you moved away. I’m spending tonight fucking you.”

“Okay,” I whisper, not sure how I’m going to get through the next few hours.

“Besides, now that I’ve licked it, it’s mine.” We’ve gone back in time to when it was justus, and his happy grin sends a swarm of butterflies into my stomach.

Everything good is finally restored.

I giggle. “It’s always been yours. I’ve always been yours.”

“And now I know you have nothing on under that dress,” he groans. “This is going to be brutal. Absolute torture.”

I help him put on his makeshift costume just because I want to manhandle him, and his knowing smile tells me that he’s onto my plans.

“Try not to look like you just came,” Cade warns.

I take hold of his hand in both of mine before sucking on his middle finger and making him hiss. “Try not to look like you need to come,” I retort, rewarded with another chuckle.

But Cade looks easy and limber as we head downstairs. I’m sure he’s putting on a better “nothing happened” show than I am, but I can’t help it.

The man reduces me to a puddle of weakness, willing to give him anything. Warning bells blare in my head, but I choose to put on mental earmuffs.

Everything is exactly as we left it. Aidan’s show is just finishing, and the timing couldn’t be better. We stop in the doorway to the living room, and I call out, “Ready to go, little man?”

Aidan cheers and sprints toward the door, Hannah laughing as she follows to help him put on his new red shoes.

Cade rests his hands on my hips and nuzzles into my neck. “Stop blushing. You know what it does to me. Besides, no one knows.”

“Then stop being so sexy,” I complain, and he pulls me closer.

“I’ve missed this, angel,” Cade admits, “You going soft against me, bending to exactly what I need. It’s time to stop resisting me, Victory. Stop resistingus. No matter what it takes or where we live, we need to be together.”

“You know that I–”

“I know,” he assures me. “I know what you need. I want to be all yours in every way. No more games.”

“Auntie Victory, comeon,” Aidan shouts before I have the chance to answer.

My mind is reeling because Cade is finally telling me exactly what I want to hear, but it’s hard to trust him again. There’s so much to talk about, and I’m leaving for the conference soon.

But there’s no time to start the discussion now, so we follow behind the excited toddler with a million things left unsaid between us.
