I stay close to Penelope, but I don't touch her or do anything that might make her feel uncomfortable around the others.

The guys pull Andre aside, and he tells us Interpol is sending Naomi to the U.S. and everyone else to their home countries. Before any of us can respond, he says, "Looks like Dirk caught some rats. Let's talk later about all our concerns."

We all eat pancakes while Dirk cooks his jungle meat. He and Zoe seem to have a love-hate relationship going on and banter back and forth.

Toward the end of breakfast, Andre says, "Okay. Who wants to go into town and pick up supplies for the ladies?"

"I'm in," Dirk volunteers.

"Me, too," I reply. I don't want to leave Penelope, but I want to make sure I get whatever I can for her, especially if we're going to be running around the jungle. The guys will protect her while I'm gone.

But she looks nervous when I say it, so after breakfast, I pull her aside. "I want to make sure I get decent clothes and shoes for you. I'll be back soon. Stay inside the camp perimeters. Promise me you won't go anywhere without one of the guys while I'm gone."

"All right. I promise."

"Is there anything you want me to pick up besides clothes and shoes?"

"I can't think of anything I would...oh, wait. Are we going to be on the run for a while?"

"That's a cute way to put it."

She blushes and sends my blood into turmoil again.

"What do you need me to get?"

"Do you have shampoo, conditioner, and soap?"

"I'll grab some girly stuff."

She bites a smile. "Girly stuff?"

"Yep."

"Can you pick up hair ties and a razor and shaving cream, too?"

I lean into her ear. "Do I get to shave your sweet pussy?"

Her face turns so hot, I can feel it on my cheek, and I'm not even touching her.

I cockily raise an eyebrow.

She doesn't answer me. To torment both of us further, I graze her earlobe with my lips. "By the time I'm done, you'll be so wet, you'll be begging me in ways you've never begged any man before."

She inhales sharply and swallows hard.

I trace her cheekbone, and she holds her breath. Her eyes are wide.

"I'll let you think about it. Don't leave camp." I wink and walk away from her, dying to ravage every inch of her flesh with mine until she's so exhausted, she's glistening and limp in my arms.

I head toward the Jeep. Zoe is stomping away from Dirk.

"Zoe," he calls out, but she doesn't turn and continues to trot away from him.

"Dirk, let's go," I yell.

I get in the driver's side, and we make our way into town.

"What was that about?" I ask.
