I release a big breath.
Dmitri furrows his eyebrows. "Why do you seem stressed? You should be happy about this."
"I am. I'm very grateful to you. Thank you. But I've never managed money. I didn't even start investing until I met Mitch. Well, he told me he was investing it. Chase tried to get me to put money away for years, but I wasn't making a lot. It didn't seem important at the time."
Dmitri smiles. "You're smart. You'll figure out what to do with it. We should get moving, though, or we'll be late."
I sink my knees next to his hips. "I thought you were going to warm me up?"
He slides his hands over my ass. "Let's stay at my place tonight."
"Yes. I'm ready to go back."
His eyes brighten. "You are?"
"Yes."
"Good. That makes me happy."
I lean into his lips. "You like me at your place?"
"So much, kotik." He kisses me, consuming all my breath, lighting up every ounce of blood pumping through my veins.
He groans and squeezes my ass. "We have to get ready."
I sigh. "We should have a no-morning-meeting rule."
He snorts. "Eventually, I need to get back on my workout schedule."
"Then we'll have to wake up earlier."
He chuckles. "Deal. Okay, time to shower."
We get ready then leave. Dmitri's investment firm is located a few blocks from Chase and Vivian's, so we walk. It's a crisp fall day, and the wind blows hard. Dmitri wraps his arm around me and shields me from most of it.
When we get to the office, there are quite a few forms I need to sign. The woman named Nina, who is Dmitri's investment advisor, says, "Signatures are needed in all the places where there are stickies."
I pick up the pen but hesitate. I wince. "Sorry. My parents had this thing about us signing forms without reading them."
And I did it with Mitch.
"Take your time, Anna. Read every word if you want," Dmitri says.
"Yes. There is no rush," Nina adds. "Ask me any questions you want."
I read it all and ask questions along the way. It's exhausting, but she answers all my questions, and I sign everything.
"Do you want to go through the investments now?" she asks.
I glance at Dmitri.
"What is it, Anna?"
I turn to Nina. "Is there a way to get an overview of the account? Like a cliff notes version? It's not that I don't care, and I think I should learn about this, but I didn't even know about this until I woke up today. It's overwhelming for me."
She smiles. "Sure. The accounts are positioned well. I wouldn't recommend you change anything right now unless you want to change your risk."
"Am I in risky things?"
