"Okay. I'll get my gun now."

"Good. I'll be there shortly," I say and hang up.

A text pops up.

Papà:Do not do anything to Guido. Luca and Gianni will pick him up.

Tristano:If he attempts anything, I'm killing him.

Papà:You don't know it's him. If it's not, we need to know who it is, so don't do something you'll regret. If it is him, we need to get as much information out of him as possible.

I hate that Papà is right. All I want to do is pull out my Glock and shoot him when I see him.

Me:Fine.

I turn on my bike, weave through traffic like a crazy man, and get to Pina's in record time. When I step off the elevator, it takes all my willpower not to kill Guido on the spot.

It has to be him.

But what if it's not?

Who else would it be?

When I approach him, he says in his thick Italian accent, "Tristano. First Luca, now you. Is something going on I should know about?"

I fake it as best as I can. "No. I need to pick up some files Pina has that Dante needs before he leaves for his honeymoon."

Guido whistles and shakes his head. "If I were getting married, I wouldn't be worrying about work the night before."

"Yeah, well, you're not Dante." I pull out my phone and call Pina.

"Tristano," she answers, her voice full of worry.

"I'm here. Let me in," I order.

The door unlocks. I slide inside then lock the dead bolt behind me.

She throws her arms around me. "What's going on?"

"Not here," I state, then move her to the back of the condo where her bedroom is so I'm far away from Guido.

"Please. Tell me what's going on," she begs.

"Biagio sent photos of you to Dante."

The color drains from her face. "What photos?"

My lungs tighten to the point the air turns stale. "Pictures of you all over town, in the office, and here."

She gapes at me then swallows, questioning, "Guido is working for them?"

"We aren't 100 percent sure. But my money's on him," I claim.

She glances at her door. "Then why are we here?"

"Luca and Gianni will be here shortly to pick him up," I tell her.

Fear floods her expression. I hate it. This should never have happened. If only we had come clean, Dante wouldn't have been able to insist Guido guarded her.
