"We're going on a trip," Tristano declares, pinning his dark eyes on mine.
My mouth turns dry. I swallow hard, arching my eyebrows in question, and gripping my pen tighter so I don't reach for him.
Dante announces, "Tristano said you needed a quick getaway."
"Sorry?" I question, focusing on Dante as my heart pounds harder against my chest cavity.
Tristano casually answers, "I can guard you while taking care of some family business. You'll get a few days in the sun."
I glance between the brothers.
Dante scratches his jaw. "We're low on men. It'll help out if you go with Tristano. Otherwise, I'll have to insist you stay at our place until Tristano's back."
"So you'll lock me in the compound?" I tease, but nothing about the Marino estate is anything less than extraordinary.
"I stopped by your place and packed some things," Tristano states.
My pulse skyrockets.
Is he crazy?
Dante's sitting right here.
I snap, "You went through my clothes?"
He sits back, sniffs hard, and shrugs. "What's the big deal? It's just clothing."
"Seriously?"
Dante interjects, "We don't have time for you to get upset. You need to go." He stacks the folders on the table.
Confused, I watch him, taunting, "I think you've spent too much time with Bridget."
He freezes. "Why is that?"
"Since when do you pick up my folders?" I question, pointing to them.
He grins, continues stacking them, then pins his dark eyes on me. His lips twitch. "Should I file these or put them on your desk?"
"Don't you dare touch my file cabinet!" I warn.
"See. This is why you should come work for me, Pina. I have much better skills than Dante when it comes to filing. You wouldn't have to worry about me messing your system up," Tristano claims, winking.
My panties melt, and I shift in my seat.
"Watch it," Dante threatens. His face turns red like it always does whenever one of his brothers attempts to steal me.
"So, where are we going?" I inquire.
Dante rises. "Bora Bora."
I jump up. "Is this a joke?"
He chuckles. "No. Why?"
I lift my chin. "It's kind of far. How long will we be there?"
Dante and Tristano exchange a glance.
