"Sure did."

"How'd it go?"

He chuckles. "So good I dropped her off this morning from our Friday night date."

"Callie Langford?" Pina questions.

Flex boasts, "The one and only!"

"How long is she in town?"

"She was supposed to leave this week, but she's extending her stay," he claims.

"Ohhh! Give us the deets," Pina orders.

He veers onto the expressway ramp and speeds up, declaring, "I don't kiss and tell, Pina."

"Sure you don't," she teases.

"Nope. I don't. That's how you know your secret is safe with me, too," he points out.

She shifts in the seat and lowers her voice. "Thanks."

"No problem." Flex weaves through the morning rush hour traffic but not as aggressively as usual due to the snow.

We stay quiet the rest of the ride. When we pull up to Pina's building, I get out and walk her to her unit.

"You didn't have to come all the way up here," she states, unlocking the door.

I push her inside, shut the door, and pin her against it. She gasps, and I put my lips an inch from hers, admitting, "I had one of the best weekends ever with you."

The gold in her eyes ignites. Her lips twitch, and she replies, "Me, too."

I continue, "And I did have to walk you up here because it wouldn't be appropriate downstairs."

She arches her eyebrows. "What wouldn't?"

"This." I lean closer and part her lips with my tongue, kissing her with everything I have, not wanting to leave but knowing I have to.

She whimpers, clasping her arms tighter around me.

I retreat, stating, "I'll call you later to arrange date number two."

Her face lights up. She nods. "Okay."

I give her a chaste kiss then step back. "Enjoy your day." I leave her condo, feeling like I'm walking on a cloud of sunshine even though it's freezing outside. I get into the front of the SUV.

Flex whistles.

"What?" I question.

"You two look super...how should I say it?"

"Super what?"

He glances at me. "Involved."

Involved.I try to process that word and what Pina and I are to each other. I'm unsure what I'd call us. Are we a couple now even though we're a secret? If we aren't a couple, then what are we?
