My chest tightens, and my lungs feel as if they can't take in any more air. I put my head between my legs, closing my eyes, wanting all of this to go away, yet knowing it's not my reality. Sharp pains shoot through my heart.

Everything becomes loud. More shots ring in the air. Men's gruff voices float all around me. Someone grabs me and pulls me toward the door.

"Let me go!" I choke, reaching for the seat belt and gripping it as tightly as possible.

The man yanks me so hard, I release the belt. I struggle, attempting to get free, but it's pointless.

I get shoved into a black SUV. The first breath of air I take makes me feel ill. Before I see a face, I know it's him.

A new fear overpowers me as I raise my head, locking eyes with the devil. My stomach curls, spinning over and over.

Uberto's dark glare swirls with both excitement and hatred. The last time I saw that look, he drugged me and put me up for auction. The ironic thought that I used to be in his arms, and now I'm his enemy crashes into me. A renewed sense of needing to escape him fills every cell in my body.

I turn to try and run for it, but his huge goon stops me. My legs and arms flail in the air until Uberto puts his hand on my throat, barking, "Stop, or I'll squeeze until there's no life left in you."

I freeze, except for my trembling insides and lips.

Uberto drags his finger down my cheek, and I shudder, wincing with tears. He squeezes my cheeks, forcing me to face him and states, "It's time to show you what I do to traitors."

Tully puffs on his cigar, taking his time to exhale the smoke and extending his response to my question.

"Jesus Christ, Tully. What the fuck are we doing here?" Killian asks, his face red with fury. The abandoned office building looks like the perfect location for a crack deal. Busted windows, a door that is barely on the hinges, and a roof that looks like it's going to cave in doesn't make any sense as to why Tully brought us here.

"Don't disrespect my father," Aidan warns.

Killian scowls. "Don't give me that bullshit. Your father's playing games with us, and you know it."

The more time that passes, the more irritated I become. Both Killian's and my phone batteries are dead. It's probably from trying to find a signal in the concrete building of the police station. And not having the ability to talk to Cara after everything that happened is killing me. I bark, "Tully, I don't have time to waste. Both Cara and Arianna are at the fashion show without us. We need to get back there."

He inhales again, and in his smoke-laden, Irish accent, replies, "You have security on them. Stop worrying."

"Tully, I'm warning you," I threaten then look at Aidan, who I've always seen eye to eye with. "Help me out here."

He shifts on his feet. "Okay, Dad. Let's get on with this. I've got a date."

Tully raises his eyebrows. "Fiona's friend's mom?"

"Yeah."

Tully whistles. "She's a milf if I've ever seen one."

"You should see what she picked up to wear tonight." Aidan's grin grows wider.

Killian groans. "Keep your dick in your pants, and let's do whatever it is you want us to do."

Tully puffs out his chest then points to the door. "I just bought this. Go inside."

"Why?" I ask.

"Because I said so," Tully responds.

"Looks like you bought a gem. Maybe you should get a new real estate agent," Killian mutters then shoots me an annoyed look and stomps toward the door.

Tully grunts, as if all of this is amusing him.
