“I’ll have some people look into it, though I’m sure this number isn’t traceable,” Mikhail said.

Damien nodded. “Do that. And in the meantime, we’re going to get you a new phone and number.”

That seemed a little excessive, but I didn’t protest.

“Baby, you didn’t have to come down here for this. Especially since there was a possible danger lurking around,” Damien chided.

“I tried to call you guys. It just went straight to voicemail,” I replied, and I couldn’t help the accusing note in my tone.

Damien let out a sigh. “This place is set up so that there’s no signal in it.”

I frowned. “Why?”

“Because this is our base for illegal firearms. It’s where we make sure the guns that go through us can’t be tracked in any way,” Mikhail answered. “It’s also where we conduct business. Anyone who comes through here can’t be tracked. It’s as much for our benefit as it is for our, ah, let’s say, business associates.”

I looked down. “Oh. I was … worried about you guys. Especially with Damien …”

I took a deep breath, and Nikolay knelt in front of me. “We know that, but you coming here is not the answer. Gleb shouldn’t have brought you here.”

I looked up at him. “It’s not his fault. I made him. And he knew I would have snuck out by myself if he didn’t take me. Please don’t fault him.”

Nikolay let out a small sigh, but he didn’t answer me.

“Nikolay.”

“Princess. How are we supposed to keep you safe if you keep doing this?”

I looked away from him.

“I also wanted to see you. I didn’t want you here with all the naked women around,” I admitted.

Nikolay frowned.

“You know we would never even touch, hell, look at another woman, right?” Damien asked softly.

I shrugged. I knew that. Deep down, I knew that.

“You have to admit things have been off between us. And you wouldn’t even fuck me,” I said, turning to Damien. “I don’t like it. It makes me feel unbalanced.”

Mikhail cupped my cheek, and I turned my attention to him. “We didn’t know this is how you were feeling. That’s not the intention. I guess we were just trying so hard to get things back to how it was before they took Damien from us, we never stopped to realize how badly we’re all affected by it.”

I felt Damien tighten his arms around me.

“We’ll fix this, okay? Things will be better. But you need to listen because the next time you disobey, you’ll find yourself over one of our laps, and we’ll spank you so hard, the one Nikolay just gave you will seem like child’s play.”

I grimaced. “Yeah, okay.”

Mikhail smiled. “Come on. Let’s go home.”

I let out a small sigh. Yeah. That sounded nice.

DAMIEN

It was late. The sun had long ago set. This was the time when angels slept, and the devils came out to play.

When we left the house twenty minutes ago, Catalina was sleeping soundly in bed.
