Slowly, I turned around. We didn’t say anything.

I waved. “Hi.”

Nikolay’s left eye twitched. “Hi? You come out on stage, practically naked, and all you can say is hi?”

I crossed my arms over my chest. “I’m not naked.”

Nikolay started to walk toward me. It was taking everything in me not to move back, or hell, turn around and run away.

Only Mikhail’s words still rang in my head. I wouldn’t like what would happen if I made them chase me.

Plus, I was wearing heels.

I couldn’t outrun them even if I were in tennis shoes.

He jumped up on stage, and I flinched.

Without saying another word, he carried me on his shoulder and walked back to the other two.

I went slack.

There was no point in fighting.

Besides, I could feel how tense Nikolay was.

I rubbed my hand up and down his back, trying to comfort him.

“Stop it, princess. Touching me isn’t going to make me less angry at you,” he gritted out.

I smiled. He was lying. “Are you sure?” I asked.

He grunted, flipped me over, and placed me down on the booth they had been sitting at. I braced my arms behind me and looked up. Three sets of eyes glared down at me.

I bit my lips.

Mikhail pinched the bridge of his nose, muttering something under his breath.

I looked at Damien.

He seemed calmer than the other two. I guess I would just have to start with him first. “How are you feeling?”

He smiled at me, baring teeth. It wasn’t a nice smile. “Sadistic.”

“Right,” I said slowly. “I-I was talking about your injuries.”

“I know exactly what you’re talking about, pet.”

I laughed nervously, trying to skirt back in my seat. Three monsters followed me, one tiny step at a time.

I straightened my back and tried a different tactic. “You’re crowding me. I don’t like that.”

I hoped I sounded confident. The look they shot me told me it didn’t work. They took another step in. If I didn’t know any better, I would have said it was rehearsed.

“I’m going to ask you one time. And you’re going to give us a clear answer. Understand, kotyonok?” Mikhail said.

I nodded.

“What the hell were you doing on stage, dressed like this?”
