I didn’t say that out loud, though I knew they probably knew what I was thinking.
Damien then joined us in bed, taking the side next to Nikolay while I lay between him and Mikhail.
I shifted and laid on my side so that Mikhail was spooning me and I was facing Nikolay. My hand came down to his waist, and I stopped when I felt something.
I frowned and lifted his shirt a bit. I only caught sight of the bandage before he shoved it down and shot me a menacing look.
“What’s this?” I asked.
“Nothing, princess, go to sleep.”
The look on his face told me not to push him, but …
He was hurt!
I knew that could happen when he left with Gabriel.
Nikolay cupped my cheek and directed my attention to him.
“Princess, stop thinking and go to sleep, or I’ll give you a good spanking that will surely tire you out.”
I sucked in a sharp breath from the clear warning in his voice.
Damien chuckled. “Ah. There’s the man we know and love.”
I opened my mouth, and he pressed his finger against my lip.
“No.”
Then he closed his eyes.
Bastard.
Mikhail laughed beside me, tightening his arms around my body. “Go to sleep, kotyonok. You're safe.”
“Yeah, tell that to Nikolay.”
Mikhail squeezed my waist. “Sleep.”
I gave up.
They weren’t going to tell me anything.
Closing my eyes, I shifted closer to Mikhail and finally succumbed to sleep.
I was …
Safe.

By the timeI woke up the following morning, it was late.
The late morning sun shone brightly through the window, and I was alone in bed.
After what Nikolay had promised the night before, I was a little disappointed it wasn’t happening first thing.
I sat up in bed and took in my surroundings.
