“Thanks.” She stepped into it.
He embraced her from behind, his mouth against her temple. “I will make you happy.”
She didn’t reply.
“Even if it doesn’t always feel like it during the process, Ava, I promise, I will make you happier than anyone ever has before.”
Her heart did a weird little flip then seemed to grow in her chest. For the first time she was hearing whispered post-coital words that held promise. She believed him. Griffwasman enough to make her happy.
“Now get dressed then go downstairs, I have something to show you.”
“You do?”
“Mmm…” He released her. “Off you go.”
But he really was very bossy and full of himself.

Griff looked up when Ava walked into the living room. She wore a little summer dress he’d picked up for her—cream with small blue flowers—and it stopped mid-thigh.
His cock stirred. Despite their shower fuck, he wanted more. He’d never get enough of Ava’s sexy long legs wrapping around his waist, or the high-pitched cries she made when she was coming.
“Sit.” He tapped the chair next to his. “I want you to look at this.”
“What is it?” She sat and peered at the screen.
“It’s a program I’ve downloaded. I want you to use it for me?”
“I’m not really a tech person.”
“No, but you’re clearly a garden person. This is a program that helps you design a garden. You put in all the dimensions, soil type, aspect, etcetera, then start with the plants you’ve got, the ones you’d like and go from there.”
“I didn’t know there was such a thing.” She waved her hand at the screen.
“There is and I don’t know where to start but I think you might.”
She wiggled her fingers, as if warming them up to get on with the task.
“The thing is,” he said, hoping his next words would truly hook her, “I’ve got a budget of five grand to do something with the garden. I’ve delayed spending it because I’m worried about blowing all that money when I have no idea what I’m doing.”
She nodded and clicked on the templates to select a layout.
“But if you could help me with the designing, I’d be up for getting on with it.”
“You want me to do it? Work out how to spend your money?”
He shrugged. “If you’d be willing.”
“Well, yes, I’m quite capable of spending other people’s money.” She gave a sharp laugh. “As you know. But I don’t know what you want in a garden.”
“The same as what you want?”
“You don’t know what I want.”
“I’m guessing somewhere to sit and enjoy a view, a place to eat, a vegetable patch, spring bulbs… that sort of thing.”
“Yes. That sounds about right, and there’s the berries to sort out and there are roses dotted around, a rose garden would be nice. Oh, and you have to think about the wildlife, you have lots here, being in the country and by farmland.”
